Another Google Places Question

I'm trying to get some "dentist in city" etc etc sites to #1 but I noticed that there are 6+ Google Places on those results, is it not a good idea to try to rank for these? as it looks like noone would scroll down to those results.

Hope someone can prove me wrong.

    Here is a little secret for you...You can rank ahead of those 6+ google places sites. I imagine you will be using video? or video/blog post?

    I know it can be done because I do it...let me know if you need any help...
