Please review a restaurant's mock-up I did.

Hello.

Basically, it's a theme I've edited and plan to walk in the door to get someone restaurants buying it. The data on the site is made just to fill the spaces and the numbers, location are fake. I'm waiting for some reviews only for the overall design of it as I will translate it in another language. Check Vatra Dorului | "Calitatea e tot ce conteaza..." . I plan to use this as a mock-up and go w/ my laptop to restaurants owners and show them what I did for them. Surely, at that moment i will replace some of the data with their own. Vatra Dorului | "Calitatea e tot ce conteaza..." Even the text is random as I wanted to get the final result asap

Also would be nice to see how much you think I should charge for it? I live in Moldova.
Thanks, Marcel

    I think it's very clean and classy. Most restaurant sites are so cluttered with over-the-top graphics there's not much useful info on them. This makes it very easy for customers to find exactly what they want. I think it's great! I'm going to be selling marketing services to restaurants in my area in the next few weeks. Wasn't planning to do websites, but now you've got me rethinking that...

    I like it, but I would got to Fiverr and invest $5 in a fake restaurant logo as well, just because the layout, as it is, looks a little plain, imo.

    I kind of like the idea of putting the reservation calender front page as you did...after showing a few highlights like the attractive dining, and specialties of the house, it is a "call to action", without looking like one. This could also notify people of special nights they need to book early - to get the best table, etc....

    Guys thanks for the notes. I will take care of the advices, especially with the logo. Another question - How much is it worth? I live in Moldova and plan to sell it for like $300 upfront and $100 each 3 months + I will include mobile version of it. Or, maybe to build it for free and then charge 300 each 3 months (not sure really) . My fees are a bit low cause I work in a med-developed country, I the US I would sell it for $1000 upfront and $200 e month. PLEASE ADVICE.

    I definitely like the look of it. You have included all the information that one might need within easy viewing. Will you also be producing video restaurant? I ask because I noted a video player on the page. That's a separate service if you do the production yourself and something for which you could charge extra if you chose to do so.

    All in all, I like what you've done. Good work.

      Yes. That is a video I made some months ago. I think not to separate it as a different pack cause here we are not yet familiar with SEO, video, and this kind of stuff. We still develop a basic online presence by having a website. Yes I plan to make something like this video but maybe not a slideshow but a simple footage of the restaurant with my camera as most of the restaurants like to show their beautiful location. However, I could rank it if needed cause it is a low competition here (that actual is ranked #1 for "leawood ks landscaping" and for some other derivates). Any reviews on the prices? I failed to work on the US market and now I plan to work here in my own country and develop it as much as possible)

      An empty restaurant?

      I'll never understand why hotel and restaurant websites almost always produce pictures with 'no people in them'

      It seems crazy to me that the selling point is 'great food' or a 'fun place to be'......and they use pictures with 'no people in them'

      It could just be my personal gripe/thing but I'd be interested to know what others think!

        Hi Heli....re: Why no people IN the Restaurant Shots;

        3 Reasons;

        1) "Many" people do NOT want their "Photos" seen where THEY do NOT want them exposed. So....you can "take a chence" on taking photos of restaurant patrons ....however....if ONE of them sees THEIR picture....on something they did NOT "Grant"....a qwik Kall to their "Hungry" attny and YOU get a letter! So...US Photographers...prefer NOT to spend our TIME...asking EVERYONE In our photos to sign a "Release"!

        2) Restaurant patrons BLOCK the Interior from view. Heck....just put yourself in the shoes of potential diners; do YOU want to see PEOPLE? or, what the INTERIOR looks like? You DON'T CARE about WHO is IN the photos! You care about....WHAT the place looks like!

        3) US "entroopeneers" who sell the restaurants on letting us take the photos of their "INTERIORS" that they spent oodles of Time & Money on... would rather try to HighLight those Interiors and....do NOT want to spend OUR TIME on dodging around people!

        Been there...Done that

        Don Alm....sold over 100 restaurants in 5 towns (20 in each town) letting me take photos of their Interiors and place them in a "Restaurant Guide" that was placed in local Hotel Lobbies.

    Your prices sound good and the design looks nice, I would just work on making that image part a jQuery image slider, restaurants really like that and it makes the site pop, especially to non-technical people. I think they prefer movement to static pages. This is why so many crappy restaurant sites are in flash, because they impress the owner and he signs right away. Do not use flash though lol, but think in that mentality: What will impress this non-technical person and make him whip out his checkbook immediately.

      Hi. Yes, actually it was a jQuery Slider there but I decided to have just one slide because it is pretty laggy on the transitions. Thx anyway, I also think a slider will make it look more dynamic and flexibile.

        Site looks decent, you may wish to get some food shots of food you really want to eat and shots with people in them.
        If you want, see my sig there is a photo gig there where you can get 25 websites that have hundreds and even thousands of free photo's each.
        I know many of them have food shots.

        The site is clean with good lines and I think your price is decent. But prior to pitching it you should build it out 100% to a real live site with real text etc...

        If you were selling me I would want to see what you can do.
