WP site that generates mobile sites, QR Codes and SMS

I just got the WPVBX SMS plugin by Chad Smith and he also has one that generates QR codes. Nice stuff.

I also found a site geared towards realtors which did all that and more.

You type in your URL and your keyword and it does all this:

  • Generates several PDFs for real estate sign riders with your SMS codes and QR codes
  • Created a very nice mobile site for you
  • Generated your SMS campaign info
  • Social Marketing built in to each listing was automatically FB'd and Tweeted
It is a beautiful all in one solution for real estate but I couldn't use it. The darn short codes ruined it and the fact that they hosted the mobile sites on their own domain and branded the mobile sites with their info. The short code was not activated on my cell phone company so that I couldn't really test it.

I called my cell company and they claimed they had activated it but it never worked. I try to explain the downside of short codes to people.

So my point is with these new WordPress plug-ins we are very near to having this same all-in-one solution with open source sites like WordPress.

I don't think I have the resources and time to develop it myself but I'm putting my cards out on the table and letting you know that whoever is the first to develop a WordPress site like this other real estate site will have an absolute winner on their hands.

I think all it really needs right now is mobile site generation and to have all of these things integrated into one plug-in with some widgets and it will be a real winner.

In fact just a good WordPress mobile site generator would be of fantastic value. You can sell mobile sites hosted on your own domain and have total control.

To be honest with you, there are many such blogs (Private and not public) with QR Code generators. Go to one such open-source project called the 'Kaywa'. There is some crazy stuff on that website. Coming back to the point, there are some plugin's which even cause various errors in the generation, This is all done by the crazy-developers. You could also find some 3rd party generators for your blog and just embed it over there!

Of course QR code generators are everywhere.

But how many sites generate a QR code with SMS subscription info in a pdf, a complete mobile site with real estate slideshows and have an SMS backend all in one.

We are fairly close to have an open source solution if we had a mobile site generator and integration of these tools.

      To: SMK homecellers.com

To: DandC No. Chad nor anyone has clarified this keyword issue. But really OpenVBX is plenty powerful and versatile as is. It really isnt a WPVBX question as much as an OpenVBX question.

My question is: Is OpenVBX able to handle different flows based on different keywords on one number.

I don't think it is as I have 2 installations running and I have yet to see any keyword options like this.

It would help you provided a link or something to the realtor site so we could understand what you mean.

Did Chad Wyatt ever clarify your real estate SMS question T?
I asked if anyone could clarify, but did not see anything about your multiple listing question...

    hi twalker,

just following on from the other thread on chads post...

i have a few clients set up that have multiple keywords per number... just like what you are wanting to do - my setup is pretty customized i have done my own plugins as well as use the handful that are out there - but i know we are doing it and sounds perfect for what you need!

let me see if i can find the plugin for you!

UPDATE you need a plugin called MATCH

openvbx is great but it is lacking some major out of the box features for multiple clients etc

till i get chance to finish off developing a more robust system i am just using it with my current clients.

as for QR codes i use my own QR code tracking its much more informative than just generating any old QR code, you get to much more analytical data then a regular QR code - plus for realtors they dont have to keep getting new signs made since they can update the destination URL without changing the QR code!

    your last post you said:

"how many sites generate a QR code with SMS subscription info in a pdf"

what do you mean exactly? what type of info is on the PDF you mean like a poster a realtor can print off? or something else?

    Cheers,

    Jay

Yes it generates a "sign rider" with qr and texting info which can be printed for the realtor.

I'll send you a pdf to show you what it generates or you can sign up for a free trial at homecellers.

The site does an amazing amount with very little info. You just upload a picture of the realtor and put in a little info and it generates everything for you.

Kinda like WPvbx on steroids. Not expensive either but I just don't like the fact thats you can not white label it. (regardless of what the site says)

        Hey Twalker,

I was actually thinking of offering this service to real estate agents in my area a couple of months ago but I found homecellers and saw that they host the sites on their own domain...(sucks!)

Whats to stop the real estate agents from doing this themselves...not to mention this company only charges $40 a month for unlimited everything

I was going to offer RE agents 10 listings for $500 to 1k per month

I spoke to a luxury RE agent regarding this idea and she stated she would be more than happy to have me present this at her office branch but Im afraid 1 of the agents will be tech savy and might already know they can get this service at a cheaper price.

Have any ideas or suggestions on what I could say in case this happens?

Have you found a similar service to homecellers that offers white label??

        Thanks

No I havnt found any which is why I started this thread. My point of the thread is that we are getting close with some of these WordPress plug-ins which could be integrated into a homesellers type site.

I bought a two dollar WSO which included this homecellers website info and it was well worth the two dollars just to see the site. The guy who sold the WSO claimed it was white label but once I got a trial I could see it obviously wasn't white label it was labeled all over with homesellers info.

What you need though is a WordPress back end with SMS and slideshow capabilities and mobile site. It's a beautiful package for real estate agents.

But you're absolutely right you demo that to a real estate agent and they will know immediately what service you are using and they have the option to do it themselves and some may not want to do it themselves but once they see how easy it is charging 500 to 1000 becomes a little sketchy because many individual agents will just say "for that much we can do the work in house"

To Jay Marino: thanks for all the help you've offered the past week I got busy and having got back to you but you're definitely one I need to get back to.

@twalker - your welcome just pm me anytime you know where i am!

@qu4rk - i have a script that i customized to suit my needs - and allows me to create accounts for clients to manage their own campaigns. I don't want to look like i am advertising so when the time is right i will post it as a WSO or as a WF Product/Service whichever is the most suited!

I have a question for you guys doing mobile website for real estate agents.
How do u go by implementing the search function from their main website?
You know, the one that is looking through their listings and shows the one that correspond to the user search criteria, of course mobilized.

    Any suggestion is welcomed.
