I do use this site. I have paid the monthly membership. The labor you get is cheap, and I have found the applicants are very low quality.

Your best bet is to post a job and let the applicants come to you. Sorting through all the people looking for work is a pain, plus most don't respond once you do send an inquiry.

Whenever you post a job you will literally get 30 emails with resumes. They are pretty easy to sort as most of them are unprofessional, and their English incomprehensible.

There are some gems though that are good with SEO work. You just have to take the time to screen them properly. I still haven't found anyone that can write articles to the standard I would like, the English levels are just not there.

I hired two very qualified Filipino VA's from the Manila Craigslist. It was free to post & I ended up with about 20 applicants.

And regarding payments- I pay weekly, but it's not uncommon to pay VA's monthly.

I use the site alot and agree with the other posts but the one thing you must understand is their culture. They are very proud and ic they do something wrong or can't do something they would rather walk away even if you owe them money.
So....... Dont try and go for the cheapest as you get what you pay for. Ask for them to respond to you job post with examples of the work you are hiring them for. Make sure you make it clear that If they don't respond with the requested sample work then their application will not be accepted ( sorts those who can't follow instructions straight away!) To get the best you must stress that if there is any problem or something they don't understand they MUST ask for help as it is expected that there will be things they don't know.
Hiring someone fulltime is best as they will have other jobs and squeeze your work in when they can.
Lastly, don't hire one person and expect them to do everything. A programmer won't do articles and an SEO expert often won't do websites so if you want, hire for each important element of ur biz. Otherwise hire for the foundation of ur biz and use freelancers for the rest.

Why dont you use other more established freelancing sites like Vworker and Elance to get your job done? I heard Filipino sites mostly have low quality works so why not pay a little more for better quality work?

If you would hire a local high school kid to work on your house as opposed to a professional who is licensed and insured go with hire a Filipino or go on Craig's list out of the country.

If you would hire a pro to do house work then go with vworker or elance.
