Offline Business Has Asked Me To Develop Flyer HELP!!!

Hi again fellow Offliners,

I am just about to seal another deal but I need to be able to deliver 1st.

The client has asked me to design them a new Flyer that will help to promote their business better, the only reason they asked me to do this was because it was how I got in contact with them in the first place.

I got a flyer of theirs through the post, it had no website, no strong call to action and the phone number in the smallest size and font possible so I emailed them to point out a few of the faults and that they could fix it and do much better and mentioned about websites etc..

Anyway to cut a long story short they now asked if I could create a new flyer for them that has a strong call to action that gets to either call them or view their website which they also want created.

I have no clue on flyers so was hoping you guys might know a good flyer course or would be able to provide some templates.

The business offers these services:

Garage clearance
Collections
Deliveries
Contaminated Bins Emptied
Pickup & Delivery
Rubbish Collection
Collections From Retail Shops

Off the top of the head, depending on how long you have to come up with one, just go out to a similar type of business that is doing well and ask if they have any flyers and use that to go off of.

That, on top of some Google searches.

The main thing is to think of what would grab somebodies attention enough on a flyer about a Clean Up shop to make somebody want to call. Offer some value like maybe "free pickup with this flyer" or "scan this QR code to get the secret code for free pickup," and etc.

      A few things:

      Strong benefit-rich headline

Drive to a website and phone #

Offer something of value for FREE: Get your FREE Report (a $47 Value) "The 7 Questions You MUST Ask Before Choosing A Blah Blah Blah Company." This is 2-step lead generation and will work if the average sale is high enough to justify it, and especially if there are a bunch of scumbags in that industry.

Pick ONE of the services they offer for each flyer. Trying to sell multiple things in a one-page flyer won't work.

Marketing principles are true regardless of the vehicle in which they are delivered.

I wouldn't make it look like a web page but the elements would be the same i.e. great headline, irresistible offer with a simple lead gen component (phone number, website, free recorded message, etc.), compelling body copy, etc.

Write the copy and hire a warrior (WSO, warriors for hire) to do the design - learning good design is a real skill - (as is copywriting) so do what you do well and outsource the rest

It seems you have already pointed out the key problems of the flyer they had. So take what they have, make the changes, and then make it eye-catching. If you don't want to do the work yourself, gather all the information that should go on the flyer, and outsource the work through a Fiverr or here on the Warrior Forum.

The guy who could make you a million bucks here is Mr. Subtle. That man knows a good ad.

If you can find some stuff he's done, you'll know what works. I know that's vague, but good luck.

Hire an experienced copywriter and charge the client enough to make a profit as the "middle man."

Lots of good talent in this area on Fiverr. Combine a talented graphic artist with the skills of a copywriter.

My strategy is...partner up with a local printer that offers design services. There are usually several in any given area. 20 minutes on the phone and you will lock into someone. Even if your client wants to print the flier themselves, the printer can usually do the design for a good price. Of course, a nice looking design and an EFFECTIVE one are two different things, but whether you go with a Warrior, Elance, ebay, or a local printer, there is no guarantee that who you use has the skills of conversion...if you don't know much about print design and how it combines with marketing effectively, you may have to FAKE IT TILL YOU MAKE IT...get a few done WHILE you are learning that side of the business...
