Videos services to local businesses.

I am thinking of offering my video services to local businesses. I was wondering if others have tried in their markets and what strategies, packages, and contact methods they used.

I am currently developing a package for realtors that will include mobile-optimized video on mobile sites. My vids are slideshow format with music background and voice-over. I am including this in a wider package. My price point is $200, however keep in mind that I am in Oklahoma where a single person can live decently on $30K income per year.

If you use speaking with music in backround make sure it does not overpower. I had to cancell out of a Guru site sa I could not hear over the music.

I agree. There has to be a good balance.

I think to build a video directory for local businesses in my town. I will walk in their door and say I want to build a video directory where users will be able to see their biz, and propose them for free to record a short vid and inlude on my ws. This is a nice way to upsell later some other services. As here in my area many restaurants still don't have a website I want to propose them later my web design service

I did videos for some local restaurants last year using free Microsoft Photo Story 3 software and got $400 each for them. These were just basic slideshows with some panning and zooming and music in the background, nothing compared to what can be created with Animoto or fancy software. Did get screwed on a few of them though, owner changed their mind at the last minute. Watch out for that.

BTW, my strategy was mostly face-to-face visits, but some emailing as well.

  • One of the best strategies with video marketing for local businesses is SEO.

Get the video of the business in the first page of Google within 7 days and make their jaw drop. Is way more easier than ranking a website.
