Hi all,

We have a business offline which prints and supplies workwear and/or fashion items to the trade and the public. We have a website that we recently added a design your own section. (at significent cost)
top impressions dot co dot uk
What we are looking to do, is offer licences to entrepeneurs to have their own business online (ie a website which carries the design your own software). We would create a web page for those that do not have one, but can insert software onto ready created pages.
We are only looking for UK purchasers, who will pay a monthly subscription for their licence, in return for this they would receive 20% commission on all purchases through their site.

The orders are printed and despatched by us at top impressions, therefore no stock, no outlay, no extra work other than driving business to their site.

We are looking for advice on promoting this business offer and possibly joint ventures.

Help!

    Hello, and thanks for posting!

My first impression is that your largest competitor will be cafe press. They offer a "design your own" studio online through which affiliates can sell their designs. I'm not sure if this will directly impact your company, but I believe the cafe press system is free of charge. I'll have to check that, though.

One thing I've noticed about cafe press is that John and Jane Doe out there don't know about them. I've promoted them only because they have some great designs regarding autism, which is a cause I deal with regularly. I think most of their business comes from SEO and word-of-mouth. You may have an opportunity filling niches they do not. This may be something to research.

I wish you the greatest success, and as I think of other input, I'll be happy to post it.
