  • "The medium is the message" is a phrase coined by Marshall McLuhan meaning that the form of a medium embeds itself in the message, creating a symbiotic relationship by which the medium influences how the message is perceived.

In other words...the possibilities are endless -
A question would be how to transfer the message from the medium, and embed to a list?
Soon with QR/AR/VR we may be able to have someone enter on the screen itself ?
Give them a "pill" (passcode) and they have access "inside" the looking glass - just like Alice.

Charge business owners to park it out front of their business for X days. Use it as a way to get attention, show offers, and more importantly build a list.

Have a website on there where they can join the businesses mailing list. Maybe even use a QR code to help with this, assuming it would show up well enough to be scanned.

        Or SMS like already mentioned.

A nice benefit of this is the fact the ads can be changed at will. UNlike the typical "billboard".

On top of this, you can make monthly income by handling the SMS or email marketing.

I spoke to Andrew the owner of the company today. Cost is a Drumroll....

            $1600.00 per Sqaure foot

Even at this type of price point, if integrated correctly, there is an opportunity to
make an amazing impact when integrated with Proximity Marketing and SMS Marketing.

Utilizing these aspects with Direct Response....Yum Yum the market and client base is ripe for this style of Super Impact. Looking forward to creating some ideas over the next couple of weeks so i can place an order and get implemented.

            Keep Sharing Thoughts...Opinions...Tactics...and Strategies....

  • Digital Sandwich board - strap it to someone (or something) - hook a flash drive on to play
pre-recorded ads or a smart phone up to it and send it text and video updates on the fly...

(outfit a glass van with two big protected panels and have the coolest mobile billboard in town...)

BRASH IMPACT -- I'm betting you'll not only have a strategy to utilize this technology within the next 2 weeks, but you'll also have a kikkass WSO to offer as well. I'm already waiting for the buy button.
Amazing, jaw-dropping concept. Thanks for sharing this!

Thomas - LOL great minds think alike, i was wondering how someone could implement this type of concept on a Mobile Van, Deep sided truck, Moiving Van...or even a 18 Wheeler rolling down the Highway.

      Money,
Could not agree more, The sandwich sign idea has HUGE MERIT, and your write on track as far as integrating with a Van of some kind as i stated above...and i have no Doubt, you would hands down have the Badest Coolest Billboard in Town for sure.
      Thanks for the Input...

      BlueIndigo,

Thanks for the kind words, already left a message for the owner of the company lol, and am looking for immediate Integration into the SMS Platform we are launching with consultants in 35 days. Won't be a need for a WSO as anything we put together such as , tactics, strategy, concepts or ideas, will automatically be loaded into our Consultant User Forum for everyone to take advantage of.

The more successful we can make our Consultants and Sales people the better we do. So in this case No WSO, just immediate Concepts to Integrate.

Your welcome for the share...and yes my lightbulbs were going on quickly when i discovered this.

      To Your Continued Success,
      Regards,

  • Well - there's the mobile digital van we wanted!

Funny, though...it is always shown parked ! - that's movable - but not mobile...

Still boils down to finding the best parking space...
people will be selling their parking spaces now for "ad" space!
(talk about "metered" ads! )

Are there some law against having a mobile video display?
What are the laws of "distraction" ?

I think they might have to be static to prevent accidents. Imagine the lawsuits...

      Money,
i agree, i am actually having someone research some laws on the Mobile Moving van in several states, cities and countys. I could totally agree, i am already looking in how to control the most valuable advertising Mobile Corners in my Home Town.

      SirThomas,
I concur, might have to be static, however the impact you could have using
static joined with Mobile and Ad Pods would be immense i am thinking. Doing
research as i stated above... Money Loves Speed, no better time to research
than the Present. Also put a call into the Owner of the company to see whats
      up.

  • @ BrashImpact - It's a conundrum for sure...who's to say what is distracting when there are static billboards all over specifically designed to catch the eye. This is just taking it up a notch - What is considered a distraction could be arguable.

I think the idea of catching people "off guard" would be viral.
for instance, the wall of glass blends in with the rest of the site - and then becomes a completely different objective - like a video trompe l'oeil...with this glass you might almost be able to produce a holographic like effect... more sophisticated than just having one ad on three sides ?
Or maybe I'm thinking in the wrong direction - rather than an sms application.
I was thinking integrate the SMS into or around the video...

Just imagine, if you decided to incorporate some... street action, like moving cars, traffic lights changing, people crossing etc...

want to make it even more interesting? Install web cams on those trucks and beam "real time" of what's happening around!

That's all extreme, but some companies will go the "extra mile". It's just a matter of time.

It is cool looking and would get attention.

Maintenance and upkeep on those must be a nightmare considering each truck side would cost anywhere from $30 -$100K You would want to have a real good insurance policy!

You would need an awful alot of sms opt ins to pay that off.
