Could someone help me out? I have a site - what to do with it.......

Hey all,

Last year, I bought this site - and I had a master plan to market it, rent it out, many things, but, have never done anything with it. I am almost sure it could make money, but, don't know what to do.

The site is Fort Worth Car Repair | Fort Worth Car Repair

It ranks on page one for that search topic.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Looks too generic the way it is now.

    But . . .

I would try to lease it to a FW repair shop that is NOT on page 1. Set up a Google Voice number that forwards to that shop. That way you control the site and the phone number.

Seems to me you could easily get $200-500 a month for it. Even one client acquired from that site would pay for the lease for the car shop.

I would highly recommend that you change the theme you are using away from the default WordPress theme. There are plenty of auto related themes out there, so you shouldn't have any problems finding one.

I'd also start building backlinks to the site with the anchor text "fort worth auto repair" and get it into the #1 spot on the first page. Anything less and the traffic just won't really be there. It will also help in selling it as an advertising medium to auto repair businesses.

      Here's a question:

What if five of you hotshot Warrior local offline consultants were each working with a Fort Worth auto repair shop.

Presumably, you're all good at what you do.

Only one of you (or none of you) can get your client to #1.

      What then?

Honestly, I'd look for a new niche... one of the things that I've learned with being an entrepreneur is that you need to know when to fold them. It can be a difficult decision because you've put so much time into something, but if it isn't gaining any traction, then there is no reason to waste any more time on it.

With that said, many advanced Warriors who are looking to "1-up" the other and who want to "steal" the #1 spot, would visit a site like Backlinkwatch.com (Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch) and search for the backlinks that are linking to the top spot. Then you try to get as many of the same backlinks as possible and just try to brute force out rank them.

I appreciate that honest answer. There's so much hype on here about #1 Google ranking and "GP 7 Box" ranking. Well, hell, if there are 500 dentists in a market and only 7 of them can rank in GP and these dentists are presumably getting hammered by dozens of offline mavens, most of them can't possibly rank, regardless of how good the consultant is.

    I appreciate all the answers.

So, best bet would be to lease it to a car repair business not on the front page. How hard would it be to get someone to do that for me? I am not the sharpest/quickest/smoothest talking on the phone - and because of my work schedule, I can do computer stuff all day long, because I can do other stuff at the same time. However, the challenge is going to be finding time to call. I'd love to outsource this aspect of it.

That term doesn't get many searches. I'd sell it to the guys listed a couple spots below you for $500. They have a similar term. Also, search Bing for that term and offer the site to that guy. One of them will buy it.

I'd also take this off before I tried to market the site: couponwidget powered by bodybuilding coupon

Backlink the hell out of it for a month or so - then sell it. That way it's still ranking and gaining cliental.
