QR Codes - How to sell MY services?

OK, yesterday I had a client presentation and they are gung ho on SMS, probably a mobile website, and they like the idea of QR codes. With all the free QR codes generators out there (like QRickit QR Codes - Create, Save, Print and Track Custom QR Codes for Business and Personal Use for instance), what kind of value do YOU add as an offline consultant?

What I'm confused about is a) what I should be charging them for, and b) how much. Do most of you who charge clients do this on a one-time basis? For example, you'll create a QR code to send to their SMS opt-in and charge them $50. Or do you charge them on a monthly basis for QR code services? What are those services?

I have to put together a proposal to present next week and I need this info. Plus if you know of any great/awesome/can't-live-without WSO's on QR codes, let me know.

Cheers!

    Hey Rob,

I've found that using QR Codes as the hook works really well. Business owners get really excited with the technology and see a ton of uses for that. Because they can go out and get a QR Code made for free though, I always tie it into the price of the mobile website. That way if they ever bring it up, I just let them know that they were buying the full package and most of the value comes from creating the mobile website. I haven't had any client mention it to me though.

So as for specifically how to charge them, charge them for a QR Code mobile website package. I've found that selling between $300 and $500 makes it an easy sale. Nobody balks at that price, especially if they've tried to get a quote for a regular website recently.

I also charge a monthly fee that ranges from $19 on the low end, for just hosting, and $99 on the high end for setting them up with multiple QR Codes so they can test out print ads and have analytics. This obviously takes more of my time up, so I charge more for it.

    I hope this helps!

I personally give away QR codes as a freebie to hook in the client. Then I up sell my mobile website service. Works great. No need for a QR code if you cant view the info in a mobile device. Oh yea How much???
