What was the best way in promoting a business between this two, using flyers or ads in a magazine.

Both can be very expensive if you don't do it right. Try both in your city and see what your response is. Flyer's are easily thrown in the trash can. Ads are bit more sticky and are more likely to be read "in full" then a flyer. Just my two cents.

I have success in my local area using pull tab flyers where I promote affiliate products, CPA offers, etc. that I place on bulletin boards, public bathroom walls, laundry mats, etc.

    All the best,

For the most part - flyers win the day - I tend to go with postcard sized full color front and back .. cheap to print AND they go easily on the bulletin boards where people post their business cards (and is larger and more striking). cheapy black and white flyers get pulled off of those. Also, friendly business owners and my clients will often allow me to keep a stack of the postcards by their register or in their waiting rooms.

Ads are only worth it in highly targeted places - like your local chamber newsletter. It's too hard to hit the eyeballs of the right people in a regular newspaper.

My most effective tool however is HIGHLY targeted - one off 4x8 postcards. I take a photo of the front of their office/store or a screen grab from their site .. throw it in a postcard body that I created and send it to a print and mail place. They send one-offs like that for me for $1.00 a piece including postage. 10 per day = 2-3 entry service (FB fan page) clients per day at $200 profit for each ... and out of every 5 entry service clients, I typically upsell 1-2 on a larger project of $2000 or more. Voila!

In my opinion, sniper rifles work better than shotguns in the offline world - IF you have targeted your prospects correctly!

    Hope that helps!

    All the best,
    Thom
