An interesting way that sms texts are being used

Here's an interesting twist on how to use sms text services.

Imagine if you were out on the town and you were really living up. And all of a sudden you receive a text message letting you know that your house is on fire.

Do you think that would be a text worth opening?

You bet it would be.

Check out the way this little device uses texting to possibly save your life.

Text Messaging Smoke Alarm

Now, put on your thinking caps for a moment.

How could you take this idea and use it in a different way?

Could you offer a sms texting package to companies that offer home security services?

Could you contact the company firetext and see if they have a version that can be used in the u.s.a.?

Can you create your own market and turn it into a system like ex. The "safety monitoring system" text. People like systems.

Go ahead and see in what ways you can use a sms text as a form of warning to people and you just might discover a mini gold mine waiting for you.

The SIM card is built into the system so walking into Home Security company would do you no good unless you had a burglar alarm with one built in which presumably you don't. B&Q do though.

This is why if people want, they pay from £10pm for a fully monitored alarm/fire service which have been around for decades.

They don't need a separate SMS package from you as it is already integrated into the software for keyholders. The keyholder determines the numbers to be called.

It is a legal requirement of monitoring companies in the UK. NSI standards and all that.

Good you are thinking of things though, keep it up and you will hit paydirt eventually.

Car alarms have been doing this for quite awhile (at least 10 years now...) where if your car alarm goes off, you get sent a text message alerting you so.

I also think that COmcast has some text message features in their new home security service. I think they go a step further though by providing an app where you can monitor your home from your phone.

      Exactly.

I had the car alarm system that sent out a message to the remote control that had a screen on it that showed where the car had been broken into.

I'm glad I never got that message that said I had a problem with the vehicle. lol
