"Odd" idea to make money on fathers/mothers day

So today was fathers day in Australia and I heard a story from a friend that made me want to share it here. My friend's dad lives near a cemetery and was telling my friend that a few people had set up little stalls selling flowers to the masses for $14 per bunch.

The cemetery was pretty busy according to them and the stalls had lines of people waiting to buy.

So that's pretty much it. Kind of an odd idea and I wouldn't do it personally, but if you have nothing to do on fathers/mothers day go buy a bunch of cheap flowers and resell them at a busy cemetery.

    Interesting idea.

Most big supermarkets have cheap flowers. Or you could work a JV deal with a local flower shop to split profits if they gave you a wholesale price.

Only one guy selling flowers . . . at a cemetery . . . kind of like selling $6 Budweisers at the ballpark.

Reminds me of a story i heard some time ago about a restaurant business. The question goes like this-What would be the 1 thing you would want to have if you had a resaurant? The owners replied, location. The other replied, great food. Another replied, great service. The expert then said, i would rather have hungry people!

If people are not superstitious about the cemetery, it can make sense. My chef used to say that each product has its own customer. so it's normal.
