Do these numbers make sense?

Okay, working with a partner to start a local deals website mixed with affiliate programs here and there. DO you think the numbers below are possible with the help of flyer marketing, radio, yard signs here and there, and word of mouth:

Avg total sale per one customer/user per year (this would be total sales from one user in a year): $100
7000 users (city of cleveland type population)
$700,000 a year?

Do you think these numbers are possible or are we just reaching blindly?

Thanks in advance for the help

they are big goals.. you need to back them up with a business plan, a breakdown of tasks that need to be done, to make sure you have enough time to manage everything.

Also you can never know the numbesr that these forms of advertising will yield until you test........ so do a test run of a small project, and you will know your number for running a larger scale project

by completing these you will know your numbesr, and know what your potential is.

You'd be better off trying to find 100 people who can spend $7000.

Drummer05 is right. You need a plan, test and adjust. These sites can be alot of work in getting publicity, driving traffic, etc. Make the cost competitive but affordable in this economy and then prove the sites' visibility. Anything can make money but keep it customer-centric first, competitive second or some lost leaders to build. Once you have the stats to prove the value of the site then you can increase the cost, add more monetization or sell it.
