QR codes: Connecting offline approval with online liking

Earlier this summer I saw these bands used at an amusement park.
As people went around the park and met new people they would scan the QR codes and could instantly share there info on which social networks there were on.
Looking at this band I get the idea of any company that is launching a new physical product and they want to get some real user feedback in the pre-launch phase. They can invite groups of people down to see it. Hand out these bands and let the group share instantly if they like the product or not. This idea would let companies connect offline approval with online liking.
Another idea could be to give these bands to auto dealers when a new model is coming out and the dealers could give them to people who test drive the new model and get feedback on the vehicle. They could actually do this on all of their vehicles. Have a big test drive campaign. Give out the bands. Then the vehicles that are the most popular in their lot feature those in their ads and on their other marketing info.
Just my thoughts.
