I charge 10% of what they spend to manage.

ya see it seems to me that 10% is an awefully small amount of payoff for the work... No?

No dude.. You are just starting it so it is a perfect payoff for the work..
When you will show good results to him then you can demand for more percentage..!!

I have heard of 15-20% being touted from some ppc guys I respect. Probably depends on how much they want to spend as well. 10% of 500 mo is not much but 10 % of 5-1ok mo sounds pretty good.

so is ppc one of those "extra services" that most people provide for clients... not much profit, more to just get them leads maintain them as a customer, etc.

obviously every once in a while the 5-10k /month client rolls around, but thats just very rare for most small/local businesses.... something like this?

I'd be interested to know this as well, but more from the other side. I've paid for leads before, although I don't have an affiliate program or anything like that set up, as it really depends on the project. I typically like to go with a percentage based commission, with the % based on overall size of the project.

I run ppc campaigns for 12 clients. I already had the campaign built and the clients are all in the same industry so it's really just a matter of customizing it for their specific situation.

They pay a startup fee of $500 and a monthly management fee of $150. The fee is not tied to the amount they spend on clicks. My clients prefer it this way and so do I.

I agree with John. I'm just now starting to move into the PPC offering area, and we're looking to do a flat fee that isn't based on the amount they spend.

Really, it takes the same amount of work to manage a budget of $5,000 or $50,000.

You can charge a flat fee of $150-$250 a month till the customer's budget hits $1,500-$2,500 a month. Then move to 10% of the budget formula ie. $300/$3,000, $350/$3,500, $400/$4,000 and so on...

I do PPC management for a few different types of clients - have a few vets and dog grooming clients. I charge these guys a flat $350 a month to set up and then manage their PPC.

I used to charge set up fees - but, I found that charging them only the flat monthly fee was better in their eyes and removed a barrier from them working with me. Besides, we are all interested in the monthly revenue at the end of the day, are we not?

I have about 5 real estate agents that I do PPC for as well. And, them I charge $150 to $250 a month to manage their PPC. I charge more for agents in big cities versus small cities.

Hope this helps. Adopt your rate to your market, in my opinion.

Most of my clients are for SEO but I do have a few large PPC clients and I charge 10% of their monthly PPC spend.

For F**ks sake, up your prices guys, you're giving away the farm.

I just joined up with a partner and we're charging $599 for setup and $999 per month for management. If you charge pennies, you're leaving a ton of money on the table. Remember these business owners are used to paying $2,000 of a little ad to appear in a newspaper ONCE.
