The best approach is to find businesses that are not ranked well or at all in GP, offer them a "FREE" Places listing (non sales value offer) then offer to "pimp out" their listing to really gain more business. I say $497 upgrade w/$297 a month maintenance.

After that you can offer them lots of other stuff after they know and trust you.

Fist pump for Jersey- (born and lived 30+) ;-)

Wow I didnt even think about renting out a monthly maintenance fee! The awesome part is my gf is in sales and she said she call businesses up for me and shot the breeze with them and use her magic! lolz

Sh!t maybe I could charge them only like $100 (to rope them in) for getting them on google places top 7
And charge them a high maintenance fee monthly!

At the exact same point in my journey as you iamx, putting the final touches on an audit I've prepared for my first potential client (the audit, an online presence one is my literature for meetings) it will be my first client, but I plan to use the audit as a template for future clients just changing the title and information so it relates to THEM and not my first client haha...

My first client already has a google places page claimed by owner, and basic written information on the page (just no pics or videos and only 9 reviews)

I plan on selling the idea that the GP page will be the flagship for his online advertising efforts, and plan on optimizing the rest of his page free-of-charge. (hook) and to optimize his flagship, start building an ARMADA of citation sites (dozens of them available) at $399 month, for 1-2 citation site indexes a week. (5-7 per month)

I'm doing this because my client is actually a very very good friend of mine going back years, he runs a bar that is doing alright business-wise but he and I want to get his to the top of GP listings, by a LONG shot.

However, if a business does NOT have a GP listing, (claimed, or not) I plan on charging $450 for start up of the GP listing and then $499 per month building the "armada" of citation indexes.

Not sure how its going to go... I'm optimistic about the whole idea though, perhaps more input from other warriors would be greatly helpful, and much appreciated...

I think you got the right idea I would just do things a bit differently.. For example I'm out sourcing all this work and paying them $80 for each client they successfully get on the top 7

Also I plan to deal with businesses that make alot of income and dont mind wasting 300-$400 a month on maintenance fee's. And staying away from mom & pop places that dont like to spend.

I also have a paypal business card that excepts recurring monthly payments setup. I plan to use a virtual number as their contact phone number. That whey they know the calls are coming from "my number" So they can see I'm actually bringing them customers and not wasting their money. (hook) It also makes it hard for them to cancel my monthly maintenance since they are using my virtual number to get contacts!

I think it all depends on what type of company you are working with.

Like you said...some companies have a big enough budget $400 won't matter.

But a small Mom & Pop I might only charge $97 and then upsell them on a Website, or SEO or something.

The whole key thing for me is setting up a recurring fee every month... I dont care if I charge $100 to get them on Google places my aim is to get them to agree to a recurring fee thats my ultimate goal...

My standard is $497 + $197 month, but needs to be adjusted sometimes depending on the market and lifetime value of a new customer to that business.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but what if they cancel your ongoing "service" after you set up the Places page and get them ranked? What incentive do they have to keep you around if they're already listed and rank high? I mean, it isn't like you can take their Places page away for cancelling.

Then you go to their top competitor and say, "how would you like to outrank them?"

Charge as much as your client is willing to pay and your conscience allows for. Seriously! I know this is a one liner but its truth.

I offer a video marketing service for my local clients. My niche is that once they are my client....they lock out their competition. In other words I will only work with ONE chiropractor per municipality. But, once they cancel my contract, they are fully aware that I will begin working with their competition. It's really not hard to go to a close competitor and show them what results you had with your last client (their competitor).

if it's a big company 900$ is not much. but i saw companies which make seo that charge only 100$/month (1$ for every 1st page rank)

Haha, I think it was. Even that sounds fishy to me. I'm one of the cheapest SEO Firms in my area, and I charge 7 times that PER keyword!

Best approach is charge per keyword.
