Need Help With GP Listing...Does Google Distinguish Between SE and S.E. in business address????

Client's existing Google Places listing has address listed as:
24853 S.E.149th Street

However I noticed many of his citations are showing for:
24853 SE 149th Street

without the dots after the S and E...

Does Google relate these SE citations to the listing above?

A search on Google shows the same number of search results for both addresses...

I know the address is supposed to be consistent on your Google Places listing, citations and website...

Wondering what to do...

This client has thousands of existing citations with the SE address and I'd hate to have to go change them all to S.E....

What should I do about this slight mismatch of the address?

I don't want to update the address in Google Places if I don't have to because I know it will trigger a manual review...

Currently, client is ranking in Top of 7 Pack for multiple terms...

What should I do?

Does Google recognize this address as the same address...Seems they do as that's why I'm seeing the same number of search results for both addresses...

Thanks,

Michael

    Micheal,

However you enter the business address "IN" your Google Places listing is the format you should use everywhere.

A good thing to do is once you've published your places page you view it and then copy and paste the address so its exactly how its appears on Google. Use that for every piece of content you publish about the company.

Thanks Rus...I understand that however I'm not sure if I need to spend the time going back to all of these hundreds if not thousands of citation pages and updating the address to add the periods after the S and E...Wanting to know if anyone has experienced this situation and what they did...Currently client is ranking well for the most popular terms for his business...Seems like Google must not be too out of sorts over the slight variation of address...SE vs. S.E...

Personally, I think it's fine. I've really only tested this with about 4-5 clients, but had 0 results change for hours of work changing citations. I think Google is smart enough to figure it out. Obviously, going forward you want everything the exact same, but the past is done.

80/20 rule. It's not worth changing. You're already ranking.

I watched a special on Google that showed how they have programmed it in such a way that even when you misspell a word they will pull up the correct word results for you. I am pretty sure that that is the reason the results are coming up the same. This is probably a case of that happening. I wouldn't worry about it then but agree with Russell for future jobs.

Thanks guys for your input...I appreciate it...Yeah, I think it's probably good to just leave it alone and watch it especially if he's already ranking for terms...
