Power of Facebook Marketing & Referrals - 3 leads in 24 hours

My friend Eric called me and asked if we can do lunch/dinner sometimes next week.

He said he wanted to get into affiliate marketing and he was wondering if i can teach him internet marketing. I said sure... and he told me "damn, my company just hired a seo company. Wish I would've known before!"

That got me thinking... hmmm, why dont I post on my facebook and let people know that I run a seo & web design company so next time if their boss or friend ever needed a website they can refer them to me.

No one replied to me... so i said whatever, at least people know what I do for living.

Then a lil less than 24 hours I had 3 people contact me.

These are not deals but leads. I'm not even sure if I can take on all 3 since my team are already involved in 3 huge projects.

One of em is my mentor who wanted to work on his new blog. Another one is my friend who works as a web designer at one of the biggest internet marketing firm. And the last one was from a real estate friend who told me that his friend will be calling me next week for a website.

Anyways, I thought I should share with you guys so you guys can do the same.

Tip: couple days before, I posted a picture of me speaking in front of a group of real estate investors. It was to add social value in front of my fb friends. (maybe you can add your recent customer's website and say, "hey make sure to check them out. Not because I did their website but because they have an incredible ________. "

Btw, my dream is to be the next Robert Kiyosaki. That's why I'm on the forum trying my best to help. Also the same reason why i got myself a speaking gig and even did my first wso. Everything is a practice to becoming the best business consultant in the world. And by the time I launch my book I want to have 100 real testimonials from 100 real businesses. That's the whole reason I'm doing offline marketing. So help me help you.

        Congrats,
These are clearly the sorts of things that are "hidden in plain sight".
Often times SEO providers make a lot of noise about what their Prospects
could be doing and yet are not doing in order to optimize their web reach.

Often times as you have demonstrated, it's important to practice what we
preach. The same social media that we try to sell and promote to others,
works equally as well for ourselves.

        Cheers,
        David :p

I personally don't like to talk business on my personal fb page. I like putting up pictures of me getting drunk and partying it up!

Most of my friends don't even know what I do for living. They just know that I party a lot, run a business, and that i have buncha employees. =X

I'm also in middle of closing a $30k profit real estate deal from fb referral I got couple months ago. whooo hoooo let's go fb!

i do a lot of facebook marketing for my clients but i never thought about creating my own fan page since i get most of my clients from referrals, direct mail, and seo.

haha and yes i do what i speech. if you want, you can pm me. I rank #2 on google for my "city keyword" which is a very competitive keyword but i like to be low key with my site. i'm weird like that.

anyways, i'll think about creating my own fb fan page.

If you keep working with the smaller companies, and building the trust , and your reputation. I promise, the larger companies will start to come to you.

Just make sure you keep your promises, and your reputation will be stellar.
SEO bizz is only a small art about the work involved. It is all about reputation.
( i don't really see people talk about that too much, so i figured i would throw it out there for you.)

Another thing people dont say. ( about referrals) If you ask too soon, you can blow an existing deal. but if you just do your job and build some trust,
the companies you are presently doing bizz with will start talking to you about "how they have friends" and how they can use your help.

Often times, these will be referrals, and they will be larger companies then they guy you are working with... hes making the referral to get in good with his buddy, because he wants a favor from them, or something along those lines. again tho. all depends on your reputation

        I like what kenmichaels said.

I think people always want the easier & faster way but the real legit way is to take it one step at a time.

If you asked me how to run the marathon, i wouldn't recommend running the full length at once but by starting with 1 mile, 2 miles, 3 miles and up.

        Hope that helps.

I can't agree more to what you had to say about small companies and reputation. I like restaurants because they know a lot of reputable people.

One thing i wouldn't fully agree is about the referral system of asking too early. I don't ask right away but I talk about it before starting anything "if" they want a good price.

I say, "hey, i can give that discount you want as long as you give me some possible referrals in the future." something light and a REAL GOOD REASON why you're giving them a discount.

As a somewhat newbie, I'm not sure if I should jump into this conversation or not. You guys seem to be way ahead of me and I am a bit intimidated.

I would like to ask all of you about using FB to market. I love FB but never really thought about using it in this manner. Where would you suggest a newbie go to find out more about this? I appreciate your time and any help you can give me.

Shirley, why don't you take "immediate action" from what I just did instead of looking for a product.

Try it out, then look for a product if it doesn't work out. I feel as newbies are always buying more products and not taking enough action. WSO are great, but it's not worth anything without any action.

And this isn't really MARKETING. it's just telling your friends that you're in business. If you don't let them know, they'll never know. And it'll suck if they go to someone else for the services "you" provide.

And don't be afraid. I had a small $1000 website I got from fb too so it's not always a huge deal you'll close.

I hope that helps. PM me if you want some help.

          GLUCK AND TAKE MASSIVE ACTION!
