The Missing Link To The $300 Cat Litter Box...
Now you may think thats crazy right, someone selling a $329 cat litter box. Guess what?
They are selling online like crazy and they almost could of pulled off their television commercial as well. Like I said, almost.
Here's the deal...it's late nite and just flipping through and here is this crazy infomercial on a $300 cat litter box. Well my curiosity took the best of me and I had to see how they were going to pull this one off on t.v.
So they actually have a pretty good foundation on emotional advertising.
They are talking about how you never have to touch cat litter again because it self cleans. You never have to worry about your pregnant wife or children near non healthy cat litter.
Older people that can't really clean their cats box everyday will now be happy because it does it automatically.
They also talked about how it is saving the world problem of rising garbage waste by not dumping litter boxes because it flushes.
They also talked about how cats adjust quickly(for the true cat lover worried about their friend not liking the cat box).
And actually a lot more.
They hit all the questions and answers you may have and hit the emotions of cat lovers, families, and people concerned with the environment.
Now here is one of the 2 mistakes that could of for sure turned this commercial around. For one, they had a minute part between breaks that explained easy installation.
It was not easy, they showed disconnecting water valve, hook this to this, split that, and so on.
Maybe easy for a plumber or for someone else, but I wouldn't do it.
Plus, do you think that 90 year old cat lover is going to whip out the pipe wrench and go to town? Nope!
Now couldn't believe they did this whole commercial and when they had to call to action, they put just a website.
Now here is the 2nd of major mistakes.
You see, do you really think any one at 1 or whatever in the morning watching tv is going to jump off the couch and turn on the computer and go to website and look around and so on and so on?
Plus, do you think older people with their cats all around their lap is going to take a week or two to try to figure out the internet?
They totally blew it, I guarantee if they would have had website, but most importantly phone number for their tv ad, people somewhat interested would of picked up the phone.
They could of easily added a number for people with no internet access or people not able to get up and turn on the computer and jump through hoops. They left it as...order this only way or don't. Big Big Mistake!
So hope you found a nugget or two in this and if you didn't, you really should read it again.
Till next time.
