Is it wise , to tell your clients (in the name of transperency) you use an outsourcer? And how does one minimize the risk in working with an outsourcer ?

      I tell them that our firm has a team of contractors from across the country that we work with. If they ask anymore about it, I tell them that I don't want to limit myself to only local talent. I want the best, most efficient workforce we can have so that we can maintain affordable prices for our clients.

    I don't directly tell them anything but I do refer to my company as *we* or *our services* when talking so I just assume that they know it's not just me working. I let them know that I'm the owner though, but it's just like someone that just bought a McDonald's franchise would you not go there because that person is not the one actually placing your order, he's just overseeing his business? I don't think they really care all that much.

    I never outsource any of my work. If I did, I would be honest because it is my reputation that is on the line. Some people won't care if someone else does the job as long as it is done properly and others won't want anyone else to do it.

    I don't say, "I use an outsourcer" but I tell them that I am a technical guy but for anything outside of my scope or something that requires an artist, I use other people for that stuff. They always seem to appreciate the honesty and not that I'm trying to tell them I'm a pro marketer, programmer and artist all at the same time.

      Being honest with your clients is a good deed if you want a long term business relationship. I don't think that outsourcing is wrong as long as you provide quality and honest job.
