How much do you charge for set-up fees (if any) for various offline services?

    LOL, people are really talkative here!

    For mobile websites I charge between $249 for a one page site, up to $499 for a standardized multipage site. I will charge more for a more custom solution.

    For SMS/Text Messaging setup fees I generally do a $99 startup fee and $59 a month starter package. As their SMS database grows the monthly fee increases to allow sending out more messages.

      I've been selling Ad programs for many yrs and ALWAYS charge a Set-Up Fee!

      For ex: with my latest program of creating a Mobile Website Directory for Restaurants...aimed at TOURISTS....I charge $150 SetUp and $1/room/mo with 3 mos in advance.

      So...with 250 rms (either 5 motels with 50rms or 3 motels with 80 rms) I charge $150 Set-Up and $250 x 3 = $750 + $150 = $900 with 1/2 down and balance on finish.

      The thing I use "Set-Up" fees for....is to;
      1) Get more money for my programs
      2) Use it as a "Closing Tool"

      "Closing Tool" - I give my presentation....including my "Set-Up Fee" and "Program Fee" and.....if I get a "Think It Over" or....ANY reason why my prospect won't buy RIGHT NOW....I say;

      "Look!" I want to fill my program today. I TRULY BELIEVE I can help you...therefore....if I knocked out the Set-Up Fee....could we go ahead now!

      You can use any verbiage that is comfortable for you...re: getting rid of the Set-Up Fee. I've found it to be a STRONG MOTIVATOR to "push prospects over!"

      Note: I've found with the "Web Stuff" I've done that....$150 is what most prospects will go for when putting together "Monthly" programs and....getting 3 mos in advance. Then...when I use the Set-Up Fee as a "Closer"....$150 is NOT that big a deal for me BUT...it sure sways MOST of my prospects
