    Hi all,

I'm wondering how SMS marketing effectiveness comparing to Bluetooth marketing.

From what I heard, with SMS people still need to pay for the text they received while with Bluetooth there is no cost for receiving the message.

    Is this correct?

Thanks for your answer in advance,

      Ratna,
The two really don't compare. Bluetooth is just a proximity message meaning that a customer would have to walk by the store (within 50' of the transmission) and if their bluetooth is enabled it will ask them to allow the connection and if it is allowed it sends a message (in my case a picture). I ran into this over the past weekend upstate and asked the manager about it and tried to sell him on SMS marketing. Bluetooth, the way I have determined it and it was explained to me, would best be used in a shopping plaza or mall. Hopefully someone can confirm or correct this but this is what I have found and had a recent experience with.
SMS marketing is more of a direct marketing. The gentleman I spoke with is going to try SMS along with his bluetooth marketing.
      Hope this helps,
      b

this is how I do it,.. don't send a text ad no more than once a month for a single phone number,..learned from experiences that if you keep sending ads too many time,..clients eventually opt out,..once a month seems ok,..havent seen opt outs too often,..and now day almost all carriers provide a free text messages so I never had an issue where a client charged for receiving our text ads,..and most of all SMS marketing is very effective,..I was in the email marketing a while back and I cant even try and compare SMS and email now,.not even compatible,..cheers
