My site has lots of products on it that range from £120 to £500. Am I aiming too high here? Are people likely to spend that much through my site?

Yes there are people who will spend that much and 10X as much and more. However, people are generally unwilling to leap into a somewhat pricey investment with no prior history with the seller. So what you might consider is having a loss-leader (something offered below its cost) or an inexpensive ($10-20) product that provides huge value. This will separate the buyers from the tire-kickers, and give your customers an initial experience with you. Then they should be more willing to invest higher amounts.

Not too high, but I would start with something I give away for free of real value or sell for a small price and then get them on your list and built it up from there.

It is best to build a list, then build relationships and then offer valuable products to people as they advance through whatever it is you are selling.

      Good luck.

Are you speaking of selling services like web design, SEO etc? or actual products like clothing and such?

    Kcon,

To answer your question with an example - I have a Amazon store that sells watches: High End Watches for Men and Women | Luxury Watches:

I get one big money sell per month (over $2000.00). This is sort of what you are describing. It sends them to Amazon and amazon is reputable and trusted so there are no worries with trust.

    Good Luck

Do a market evaluation. What prices are your competitors at? Higher? Lower? Is their quality commensurate to the quality you offer? The devil is in the details.

You can never aim too high, but you should know your market and undstsnd the prices they want to pay.

Value is one of the most important thing when selling your products. People won't just spend for something they were not really sure about, a good product feedback will make your customer comfortable whether you will be selling them expensively or inexpensively. But first always think your relationship with your buyer on why they should buy from you, is it worth to buy your pricey product? Or you're giving them something valuable more than what there money can get.

I think it sounds like you're aiming too high in terms of quantity of products.

Why are there so many items on your site?
