Advice for Venturing Into the Offline World

I've been into online marketing for the past 3 years or so and always have local business owners interested in what I do and asking for advice. So, I've been thinking about getting into the offline marketing world.

But, I'm having a little difficultly getting started, mainly in what services to offer and what prices to charge. I was thinking about offering website/blog design and social media services for now and then adding SEO services later once I become more knowledgeable about it.

Of course I try out everything on my own businesses first. Is this a good option and what are some basic pricing packages I can use to get started?

    Hi QC

I am just relaxing and reading through some of the posts. I noticed number of your posts and I bring your attention to the number of mine. Both at the low end. I am by far not an expert. I would say forget about figuring all that out. - JUST GO DO IT.

I know that sound strange but you will find that is really how its done. Or at least for me. Figure the rest out when you have a client then figure some more when you get your second and third.

Start with people you frequent in your town.. Almost every business needs our services.

The challenge I see most people have is the "doing" the how will come.

    I hope the helped.

Be well and much success QC.

I was in the same boat as you not too long ago. I am found myself getting caught up in the details. Services to offer, price points, niches to target, payment options, etc... There are so many ways you can go about it. Although it is easy to say, just get in and do it, I think you first must have a central goal. Then - you can start filling in the details.

I decided that my initial goal was to offer a website or redesign. That's what I'll to use to "get me in the door" , then I will focus on up sells.

What you need to decide is, what will your primary objective be. Mobile solution? SMS? Design/re-Design? Social Media? Rep Management? After you figure this out, then it will be easier to get the client, and offer them other solutions.

All that being said - I have not started my official marketing campaign yet. I'm starting this coming monday. After I figured out my primary objective, I have more clarity and now I'm ready to offer my service.

I hope this helps, a little.

    Web design $1499

    Facebook page $xxx

SEO (getting your site to 1st page of google) $xxx/month

Translate that to your local currency

    Hi there!

Hourly rate (it depends on specialty but goes from 25$ per hour) + taxes + software (Photoshop and Corel are way expensive, so I have to be able to get some $$$ in every work) + information used (I know this is weird BUT if I am using good information, they'll pay more - if it's a normal thing, price reflects that) = final price.

In the end my clients pay for KNOWLEDGE. If they use a lot of my good knowledge, they'll get more, and they'll pay more. You have to adjust your knowledge into your prices.
