I'm curious how their service is. It is one of the companies I am considering but I have not heard many talk about them.

They offer an unlimited platform. No per message fees....around for a long time and have a lot to offer. I am with Textco. That is who I chose to go with so I can provide SMS to local businesses.

The pricing is pretty amazing but what happens when you have serveral thousand texts going out? I'm just afraid they are too cheap and their business model will not support me growing my business.

At what point do they cut you off? If someone is sending 20 or 30k texts a month that would have to be a loss for them.

Textco Media does not offer a true SMS program it is through SMTP. SMS messages are truly text messages while SMTP messages are little emails sent to people's phones. These look similar to text messages so its almost as if you can't tell the difference.

The platform is cheaper and just like the old adage you get what you pay for. The lists are not transferable which means if you stop the service you lose all access to the opt-ins. You can only capture an opt-in through the cell phone. So you cannot provide an API to your clients so that they can capture names on a website nor can you manually enter in or upload opt-ins to the system. You cannot even see the names or phone numbers of the opt-ins. You will have a platform with very limited features as compared to some of the more robust platforms that you will be competing with. The deliverable percentage of messages is very low because they are blocked by the carriers.

I speak from personal experience because I have a similar platform. Textco uses the same "supplier" that I use. As a result I am know in the process of setting up a new SMS platform.

    To Dmagnet!!!.....Please help me here!

That is strange...I was told something completely different. I was told it is true SMS marketing. Are you 100% sure in your statement? As I got this info directly from the company. I will be very disappointed if what you are saying is in fact true. Please PM me as I cannot PM yet. Thank you for your time sir!

A true shortcode has only 5 numbers. This has 6. On a phone it would spell out "dotorg" The same technology uses "dotcom" and "dotnet" as well. Also, with a true shortcode you would only need to send one keyword not two. Do you notice that they refer to one as an "adname" and the other a keyword?"

Let's put it this way. I have almost 100 accounts all paid for. I can sell each of these easily at $300-400/yr and make an additional $30-40K per year. It is not a bad service. It is just a very basic service and you will be competing with other sales people who are selling very robust text messaging platforms. Your competition will be offering prices like $49 for 800 messages and $99 for 2000. So your only USP is that your system offers unlimited messages.

I can even give these away for free as a bonus incentive, etc and I don't feel good offering this when I know that for a few more dollars the client can get a platform that is so much better for their needs. The amount of money that the clients are investing doesn't really matter if they are getting a good return on the money. Right?

After doing much research I just signed up for a new SMS platform today. So far I really like what I see and the investment isn't too bad.

I can't PM either. I'm happy to speak with you if you feel comfortable leaving your contact info. You can test my service that is similar to Textco by sending the keyword "onthegovip demo" to 368674.

This is incorrect. A shortcode has "Less" numbers than a normal phone number. 911, 411, 12345, 123454 are all examples of short codes. Quality shortcodes are based on an idea to remember for ease of marketing. Like heres an example: 466453 (GOOGLE) pretty familiar shortcode. WHAT NOT 5 Digits? THIS CANNOT BE! DOTCOM, DOTNET, DOTORG all great short codes as they can be easily remembered.

DOTGO does not use "SMTP" technology to deliver its messages. DOTGO uses TRUE SMS to deliver there messages.

TextCo Media does use "keywords" and "adnames". There are many reasons to do this. The platform supports both with all of it's features. A distributor like myself can Sell either keywords or adnames. Both have pros and cons as to use one over the other for a specific business.

The beauty of TextCo Media is the fact that it is an Unlimited platform. You can launch a Text message marketing campaign with virtually no out of pocket costs. That can be useful when dealing with clients that want to trial the technology.

I have used many different platforms for Text Message Marketing. TextCo Media just offers the best... Check them out!
