The Real Deal Offline Series: Are You Ready For Real Publicity In Your Offline Business?
Over the past couple of months, I've seen alot of offliners complaining that they don't have enough clients. So, in order to solve that problem, many offliners are rolling out massive marketing campaigns.
Which is a good thing.
However, what many of these offliners don't realize is that you must be ready for that level of success in your business, otherwise it will literally destroy your offline business before you even get it off the ground.
Here's what I mean...
Last year, when I was getting ready to officially launch my offline business with a publicity campaign, I suddenly realized that I might not be ready for the big time.
Here's why I suddenly realized I wasn't ready for the big time:
- Website wasn't fully completed yet
- Books weren't edited and up on Amazon.com
- No business phone number set up yet
- No system in place to walk clients through my process
- No professionally produced literature to give prospect's or clients
Sadly, those were just a few of the areas that needed dramatic improvement. Up until that point, I would've sworn on the bible that I was ready for that "next level". However, in a moment of honesty, I realized that I couldn't handle the next level of success if it actually occured.
It dawned on me, that unless I got my act together, it was best that I pause my full-scale marketing campaign. So, that's what I did.
Taking a extra two months, I was able to get my website finished, my books published, business phone set up and about a dozen other little things that I didn't think were necessary.
See, I was told by some offline guru's that you didn't need all of that to make money in the offline marketing world, and truth be told, they were partially right because I didn't need to have everything set up to make a few dollars here and there. In fact, I even had a few clients before I had my act together.
However, at the same time those same guru's were also wrong because I absolutely needed to have my act together to make real money doing offline marketing, otherwise I could never create a consistent flow of income that comes with having a complete and effecient system in place.
See, from a potential client's point of view who's considering investing thousands of dollars in your marketing strategies and plans, it is absolutely essential that you have the most basic business things like a business phone number, business email, professional website etc.
So, as soon as you get a little breathing room in your budget and want to take your offline business to the next level, go ahead and invest the effort and time to get "official."
It will do wonders for your confidence, branding and presentation to your prospects and clients.
Hope this helps,
Chris
