Client Management Plugin?

Hey all, I was looking to install a client panel interface for my offline clients to manage their information and also post support tickets for me to answer and help them. Are there any plugins available for this purpose?

Thanks.

I like to use Project management software, online collaboration: Basecamp to handle client requests, etc...

I was more thinking of maybe a wordpress plugin, or maybe just a script that I could install on my website. Basecamp sounds too expensive really for no reason.

I needed something for my clients to go for example on www.mycompanyname.com/login and once there they could update their information and also post support tickets.

    Thanks.

If you can't afford $24/mo then you might want to reconsider getting into offline marketing. There is even a free plan (only 1 project can be open though) just to get you started.

I appreciate your help but don't come lecture me here. I can afford whatever amount is needed for my business, it doesn't mean I have to go spending my money for no reason...

The idea of paying $24 per month for a service that I can get for free is ridiculous, don't you agree? Now I don't really know basecamp's features, but all I wanted is a place for my clients to login, see their information and submit tickets. I just looked at my fantastico's scripts and osTicket sounds like a good support system that I could provide to my clients. However, it doesn't include a client panel, but I'm sure I can find some free alternative for that particular need. That $24 could be spent elsewhere.

It is not the first time I see someone posting on this forum "if you can't afford X, then you might want to reconsider this and that," and it just annoys the hell out of me. Every business model has a budget. Even multinational companies control their financial spendings even though they have millions to spend. The objective here is to spend it wisely.

Now again, before throwing criticisms around, think twice before you post.

Why don't you just use the TouchBase plugin WSO? It's only $12, and I just bought it a few days ago and installed it and used it on one of my clients. It was very easy to use.

Basically you install the plugin and then you create each client as a user in WordPress. Then you put the widget for the login in the sidebar of your site.

This is good because you can put your additional services on your site, so when your client logs in they have to do it from your website. So they get to see the other services that you offer.

Don't take it personally against yourself or your business.

The reason why people say things like that is because people with the mindset of I can't spend X often fail, because instead of seeing value they see cost.

It can also show that you don't value your time e.g. instead of just getting a well known solution you are happy to spend time looking for free alternatives, posting in forums and playing with servers and making the free solution work. If its not worth X per month, is it even worth doing at all? e.g. is it really important to your business or just a nice to have?

Not saying you need to run out and buy basecamp or any other SAAS just hoping its a bit of food for thought. It does sound like a cool idea for a wordpress plugin or similar and thats why I opened this thread.

If you could fly on a free airplane would you?

Check out Freedcamp - Free Project Management might be up your alley, or like already mentioned basecamp has a free option too.

Au contraire, I can see value, but the important thing is also to relate value to cost. The mentality "if you can't afford X then you might want to reconsider" is the Warriors' habit of always spending on needless products, *ahem* WSOs (well most of them are total crap.)

The truth is that money doesn't always buy everything. If I can research a bit for an hour, ask for some help in forums such as this one, and come out with a free solution, then why not? This solution is also an added knowledge, and knowledge is always good to have and share.

However, if there is a service that I absolutely need, and there is no alternative, then I'll gladly pay for it. For instance, hosting fits in that category as the free alternatives are not worth it. Domain names, Aweber, reputable WSOs, premium WP themes, some outsourcing to tedious tasks, business registration, invoicing systems, and such also fit in that category.

      My .02$

edit: btw I like the freedcamp's theme. Would you know it by any chance?
edit: The plugin TouchBase sounds really neat, and this I would buy.
