[Offline Guru Strategy] 7 Steps to redefine and position your offline consulting business
Your Offline Marketing Business
At the end of 2010 I audited my offline consulting business in order to understand what I needed to do more of, but also, to figure out what to do less of.
The following 7 steps are the ones I took. If you follow them you'll be able to define (if you've not yet fully taken the plunge) or redefine (if you're an active offline consultant, either full or part-time) your offline consulting business focus and positioning.
- Define or redefine your offline consulting business as a 'problem-solver'
. - Understand and get clear about the true 'scope' of your offline consulting business
. - Find ways to 'get under the skin' of your prospects and current clients
. - Dare to be different and stand out to be outstanding (if not, why should any local business owner elect to work with you as opposed to those that offer exactly the same as you do?)
. - Create a strategy that will help you 'define your position' in your niche or target market
. - Get clear about how much a local business client (or customer) is truly worth to you
. - Select the appropriate marketing tools you're going to use based on what you want to achieve
All you need to do now is carry out this audit on your own business. As a bonus, you can also do what I do and offer this as a marketing audit service for prospects, current and past clients.
Since we're all different in our goals, whether you choose to charge for it or do it for free should be based on what you want to achieve.
Comments welcome and here's celebrating your success!
