Help with citation submission

Hi All,

I am trying to submit my site and its citations to a load of directories.
But... Should I put my citation in the "Title" part of the submission, or the "Description" part?
Sorry if I sound a bit dumb, I am still an SEO fledgling.

Best wishes

Chris

I have just checked my citations and I have over a thousand when I search on Google.
The person in the 'A' position on Google places only has 171 citations found on Google.
I have used all my photos and added 5 videos.
Is there any rhyme or reason to Google places or is it merely pot luck?

    Regards

    Chris

Put the citation in the description part.

And what method are you using to distribute them? We use ubl.org, for $39 (go below the nice looking area selections for the "basic listing") and they distribute your citations to over 350 of the biggest, most prominent citation sites.

This saves me hours and hours of time. For $39 it is a no brainer to me. I personally wouldn't do their other packages, much higher in price and not necessarily going to help for citations. (assuming you do Places/Yahoo/Bing yourself, which I would do yourslef)

That sounds like a plan. I have been doing them manually on a Mac and it's taking hours!
I still don't understand Google places. The people at the A listing seem to have the worst places page with no info, pictures or videos?

That actually sounds like a great target customer, they are getting the #1 spot, but not really on purpose and they risk to lose it to you. The other thing is that it could be due to organic SEO efforts . Check them out on Market Samurai and see if they have been doing backlinking.

That might explain it to, because Google Places ranking is a combination of SEO, Places settings (location, industry, pictures, etc.) and citations. All that equals Google Trust when done right.

Are you sure you have over 1K citations? How are you checking this, because I think you are mistaken. 1K citations will always beat one with a hundred unless you aren't optimized, website included.
