Can Someone Explain What An Offline Marketing Consultant Does?

I've Heard Different Answers And I Dont Know What To Believe lol, So i've decided to ask the warriors any answers are welcome.

    It is exactly what the name says it is.

    You consult for offline businesses, help them with there internet marketing etc.

    A marketing consultant helps build your brand identity. This can be through offline means like billboard advertising, signage, pamphlets and other physical venues. They may also have input on corporate culture, charity events, and other "soft" means of public perception.

Sometimes they pick up the phone and start calling, looking for businesses who are undergoing a leadership change, are having revenue problems and are feeling stuck about what to do next, or some other pain that would be solved by marketing efforts.

          So basically im not restricted to my local area if i can find businesses in need of marketing help in other areas?

    Offline Marketing Consultant is a fairly broad term as Jason states above. A consultant meets with the client, studies his business practices, discusses the clients needs and the consultant suggests the most efficient and cost effective solutions to fulfill those needs. Solutions may not be of his personal expertise but it's his duty to locate the desired experts. Issues could range from marketing and advertising, to staffing or production issues or any other business matter the client need direction on.......it's the consultant's duties to find solutions.

    Most here in the WF are considered "internet marketing consultants" who consult local offline businesses to integrate the powers of the internet into their present advertising and marketing plan. Many here won't get involved in radio/tv ads, billboards or direct mail marketing......sticking with website design, seo and social media marketing.....Some will, but it's been my observation that most won't get that involved...

    Correct, though without a solid reputation I think it might be tough for people to hire you without meeting in the same room with you once in awhile. If you can find a niche, get good results, and do everything remotely/via skype, then it could be easier.

    You're only restricted by yourself.
    In this business there are no other restrictions, geographical can be easily overcome with the many methods of instant communication out there, skills can be overcome by outsourcing.

    The only restriction is you, how much you limit the growth of your business, how tightly you wear you blinkers or how wide angled you spread your view.

    Ideally you do want some business and marketing nous and knowledge, to be able to understand and spot business and industry issues and pain points and to be able to talk on, at worst, a level field with business owners.

    So what do offline consultants do, we improve offline businesses using all the strategies (online, mobile,offline, hyper local etc) we know enough about to be good enough at putting into practice at price points that are going to make enough profits to make it more than worth our while and ideally working with businesses and industries that have enough upsell opportunities and long term growth potential to be lucrative lifetime associates whilst also picking up the smaller short lived clients that pay the bills eg promoting a one off local event

    Good feedback so far. To me, a core function of an offline marketing consultant is to bring their prospect client more leads for the client to turn into customers. Every client/prospect I've talked with wants more leads...either in the front door, on the phone, or on their website.

    There are a variety of ways to accomplish this, but the better I qualify the leads for them, the happier the client is. I get the client in front of prospects "when" and "where" they are searching for information on products, services, or local businesses. And, I place special emphasis on the importance of their brand presence and reputation.

      Same as every other field, there are low-paid and highly-rewarded consultants.

      Again, What Magnitude of Problem are you solving for your client?

      Solve a little problem, get paid a little.

      Solve a huge problem, get paid a lot.

      The really interesting thing is that in many cases, What you do is exactly the same: it's the buyer's perception that matters.

      With all due respect, but NOBODY can answer that question for you!

      This is a TOTALLY individualized and specialized area on what YOU can bring to the table in order to HELP businesses!

      So, what do YOU have to offer offline businesses? And, I mean by helping THEM, and not YOUR bottom line (wallet)!
