Dominate Craigslist?

Hey guys! Since June of this year, I've made over 9k with craigslist. This is only because my first client not only wanted a custom website, but added a few upsells that summed up to 7.5k. Pretty sweet. The other 3 clients were short sells. So, I've only had 4 clients from craigslist and I would like to increase it.

I'm having the hardest time on craigslist generating more clients. I may be doing something wrong. Here are my two issues:

1. I have 3 accounts on CL, but I've noticed that I can only post about 3 ads with each before CL ghosts my ads. Should I write totally unique ads each and every time in order to put out more ads? I usually put out the same ad, it's an image that's hotlinked, and just add something extra to the bottom so that it appears different to CL.

2. In web design, contacting ads that request web design work is crazy. I remember spending a day contacting everyone who needed web work from every city in the US on CL lol. No joke! It was exhausting. What's worse, I didn't get one email reply. So, yeah, I was pretty beat up.

I guess my question is for those generating a clientele on CL: Is there a special way you're going about contacting these ads that "rope's them in"?
