offline marketing, where to start....

I really want to do offline marketing. However, I'm not sure I can do it in my town. That's because in 20 towns in 2 counties, (and about 5 hrs tip to tip,) we have less than 35,000 people total. (dispite the distance and the different townships and governments, we think of ourselves as one big 'town'.)

Also, even though we have a lot of 'mom and pop' stores, most close in the winter for between 2-5 months. (We're a tourist based industry.)

We're not a rich area, so I'm not sure I can actually do this in my town. (I'm not sure who would have the money.)

Any thoughts on where would I even start? (I'm guessing virtually, but how would I even start that?)

There it is. You are a tourist based industry. You should become the "tourism copywriter." Help the local tourist based companies with their marketing messages. Teach them how to do social marketing.

After you get some success, do what Tom Hopkins calls "mining the mountain."

Meaning, you approach other tourist based communities with your expertise. Expand out geographically. Target the communities as their different seasons come up. Now you are working year round with summer tourist communities, winter, fall (leaf viewing in New England!), spring.

You could make it a specialty and work with clients worldwide.

    Retire at 30!
