Micro Niche Finder vs AdWords Tool for Local Searches

4 replies
Thanks to Not So New's thread about how he got his first offline client, I'm now diving into the offline field. Well I was getting ready to make a video similar to his and I hit my first road block.

The search counts for the local terms I plan on using differ quite substantially when I use Micro Niche Finder and Google AdWords tool. MNF says there are a total of 620 searches per month for 2 terms. AdWords is saying there are 7,320 searches per month for the same 2 terms.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to run into this issue while running a local term so which am I to believe? Thanks in advance.

::EDIT::

Delete this thread. I'm feeling pretty dumb right now. I had "Broad" checked in AdWords, not "Exact."

    Actually, rather than delete ... might be worth highlighting the difference between BROAD and EXACT ?

      Yeah I think MNF is giving you Exact match and Google is giving you broad that should explain the difference on results.

    I myself use Market Samurai for the most part.

    But I do have MNF and I obviously used Google Keyword Tool. As it seems to me, the main thing is not the exact number, but it is relative to other searches.

    We all know that Google keyword tool does not supply exact numbers. But when you see how they are relative to other more competitive searches you can get the idea whether you are going to use it or not.

    But again, Market Samurai actually provides much more detailed and exact analysis for your keywords.

    So I usually get the general idea from the keyword toll and then go to MS for more detailed analysis.
