Reseller/ Private Label Web Site Builder

A few days ago, I got an email from Weebly about their new "Designer Platform".

Holy Cow! I never even knew a concept like this existed! I LOVE the preview site option and not having to pay until the client buys, I love having one dashboard to manage all my client's sites, I love the simplicity and ease of use, and I love being able to rebrand it and have my clients log in and update their own content.

My life has changed recently such that I don't have as much time to spend on my business, so I'm looking for time-saving shortcuts wherever I can find them.

So anyhow, the only things I don't love about Weebly is the price ($7.95 to $24.95 per month PER SITE), and I am looking for something with more customizable templates. Plus client billing would also be very convenient. Though I have to admit that I haven't fully dug into Weebly yet, so they may have those options available.

Anyhow, so ever since I've been Googling like crazy, and I found out that their are a bunch of programs like this. I see that Weebly has gotten their pricing structure from Adobe's Business Catalyst. I took a look at that but there are no templates that I can see. Though coincidentally I have downloaded and have been playing with their Muse software and now I can see how they would go together very well.

Listen, I know all about WordPress...in fact that's all I use and have mastered it. But every time I turn around, there is a new theme, update, or plugin to consider, and it has ended up complicating my life instead of simplifying it. Also, I want to be able to offer lower prices to my clients...if they want a custom WordPress theme, they have to be willing to pay me extra for it.

I have been a happy HostGator customer for a long time, so I wondered if HostGator had anything like this already available via cPanel. It looks like HostGator is about to come out with BaseKit (Create a website | Creating a website is easy with BaseKit) but when I called Customer Service this morning, they still don't have an exact start date.

I don't know how you can master any CMS and still be tempted to go to such a cheap and low quality solution? I don't see these being a viable option for quite some time!

You're truly better off with wordpress. If it is becoming too much, I would suggest starting to outsource!

I do understand where you are coming from, because Weebly templates look like they were designed by children, compared to what I am used to using for WordPress.

However, I love simplifying my life! So I'm still looking for an optimal solution.

Even today I was feeling frustrated with WordPress. So many themes don't display properly when I activate them. So many times I want an image to appear a certain way, and I have to try plugin after plugin to get the image to display the way that I want it to.

WordPress is both great and annoying at the same time.

Local businesses do not care if YOUR business is simplified....they care about theirs.

In your words "Weebly templates look like they were designed by children"
Honestly...is that the business model you want to portray?

        Stick with wordpress or html....

Touche, you've got me on that one...but I don't think anything is wrong with a marketer wanting to develop systems to more efficiently run their business.

I will say that the TouchBase WSO plugin has been very helpful for client management, and I found a plugin two days ago that will rebrand your admin area...it's called White Label CMS.

you don't use plugins to get an image to display properly in WordPress...you need to know CSS...and if you don't then you should outsource.

I definitely DON'T know CSS...well, I can alter it a little, plus I can play around with HTML a little too...but I don't know how to create it from scratch. So that's a thought.
