      I couldn't believe it. I ordered pizza and the doorbell rang. It was a Kenny
      Brooks clone. He was nervous to pass me a brochure because the dog was not impresssed.

      After talking a few minutes about the features of energy efficient fridges, I realized that this guy is selling major appliances door to door!

      He said I would only pay $100 over cost because he was an appliance manufacturer's rep and he had the ID to prove it.

      He talked and laughed which gave me time to remember that my friend's dryer caught on fire next door so gave him a hot lead.

      So, for all the Kennys out there, if you are selling door to door, there are always products and services with higher commissions. It only takes a little research.

    Nice, this so reminds me of another door to door salesman. An associate of mine that trains the same material as I do in Minnesota got a knock at his door. When he opened it the door to door salesman said.

    "I have pudding in my pants but that's not why I am here"

    Umm what did you say?

    "I said I have pudding in my pants but that's not why I'm here. I don't really wanna talk about it"

    Umm well ok, so why are you here?

    "I'm glad you asked and since you did I will tell you"

    He pulled a sheet and that has a bunch of magazine covers on it. My friend say, Oh your selling magazines.

    "Sir let me get one thing straight. The last thing I am going to do is try to sell your magazines"

    Oh ok, then why are you here?

    "I'm glad you asked and since you did I will continue"

    Went through the rest of his presentation then at the end said, "ok based on everything you told me I recommend you buy these tree magazines."

    Now wait a minute, you said you were not going to sell me anything.

    "No sir, if you will recall what I said is the last thing I am going to do is try to sell you magazines and sir this is pretty much the last thing."

    My associate could not resist.

    Awesome Salesmen.

    This is all trained and learned technique . Not the attitude, but the system he is using. This guy has it down pat. He says the same thing to each customer, and works the law of average , which is what any sales game is about.

    He passes the bottle to the customer to hold. Putting the product in the customers hands creates a sense of ownership, making them want it more

    He opened his book to show the neighbors that bought it - that is whats taught as the "jones" effect. Letting them know others have got it, makes people want things more.

    He continues to ask them questions which all will have the answer "yes", gets them on the buying track.

    I used to do the exact same thing, for 2 years. Instead of residential, i went business to business, selling them whatever we had that day, kids books, dvds, leather jackets, anything.

    What I was told, and eventually learned to be true, it it DOESNT MATTER what your selling. You need to play the numbers game, and attitudes are contagious. You need to approach people with excitement and enthusiasm about your product, because at the end, that's what sells.

    Sales is really a game in which the more you do, the more "moves" you learn to master and use as part of your arsenal.

    If you listen to a lot of hip hop like I do you will notice a lot of stuff he said is from hip hop songs.

    The clever punch lines that is.
