Looking for a noob friendly WP theme for offline biz

OFFLINE MARKETING

Hello,

I am looking for a newbie friendly WordPress theme to create a website for

the company I work for. Currently they do not have a website. I have been

reading a lot of these Offline threads and thought "hey maybe I could do

that". So back to my question what would a good theme be to start out on

for a newb. I have seen Clickbumps BizLocal package and it looks good but is

it easy for someone with little to no wordpress or html experience or is there

something else out there that is better? Any thoughts, questions, or

recomendations would be appreciated

Depending on your exact needs, you can do a lot with the default wordpress theme. Change the header image and the background and you've got a good looking, easy to manage website.

Want something better looking with more features than you know what to do with? Take a look around themeforest and $30 - $40 will get you a theme that looks like you spent thousands on it.

Thanks Steve! I will check out theme forest. I have heard good things about them. Do

you recomend any specific themes from theme forest that would be suitable foe a small

business type site. Its for a bowling center if that helps.

Premium WordPress Themes | Elegant Themes. Not exactly newbie friendly but alot of the themes don't need to be modified to work with a local client.

friendly do they have good support if I run into any problems? Or just need some help figuring

PS: i would say DON't use elegant themes. They do look great but are not noob friendly at all, and virtually none of their stuff works out of the box. Requires coding and tweaking well beyond a noob's skills and they don't give you any of the images/etc to work with (unless you buy the more expensive package).

To me they are a good example of how NOT to sell themes. I love the way they look but no theme someone purchases should require coding skills. People who buy something want what they bought without extra work.

Brian - Thanks for the suggestion I hasn't heard of wow local pro I will check them out do you know

If they have multiple templates and decent support? I would like something that has a good reputation for support since I don't have a whole lot of WP skills.

Sadie - I will check out ink themes as well. Thank you for your input its nice to get some good answers on this forum. For a newbie there is such a variety of choices it can be a little daunting just picking a way to get started.

godinu - that is good to know I don't really have coding skills as of right now. I agree with you that out should work right out of the box. That is what I'm looking for.

So I came across this expand2web theme and it looked pretty interesting it even had a built in mobile version. Has any body tried this theme and how does it compare to clickbump bizlocal theme?

  I would also recommend inkthemes, I bought one of their WSO's with three themes in it. Built my first wordpress site using one of them and it was pretty straight forward and they do provide support if you get stuck.

I am working on some easy to use local offline business themes for everyone to use. I think this would make it ALOT easier for you all to work with. I will include video how to's and walkthrus and of course support.
