Long time reader, first time poster

After standing on the sidelines, trying to have everything figured out, and waiting for "just the right time" to jump in I've finally taken some action to get started in offline marketing.

After reading John Durham's "Don't be broke..." post, as well as his telemarketing report (Thanks John ) I've found sufficient inspiration. Although not a newbie to internet marketing I picked up the phone today and made some cold calls, and I have to admit...it wasn't that bad.

I've done a lot of phone sales in the past and it was that experience of constantly and repeatedly banging one's head against a brick wall that made me fearful with call reluctance. But I used John's approach of "just checking" so to speak and although I only made a few calls my "aw-shucks" demeanor seemed to work better than the old-school methods I was taught about trying to pitch everyone.

And now the question: I've tried using SEnuke in the past, as well as Content Buzz for link building and from my personal experience they were both s***. I don't like link building, so my plan was to outsource it, but the problem is that of trust - I don't really think I could trust anyone from Fiverr so I was considering outsourcing to a Warrior. A few of the packages listed here look pretty decent, but if I'm being honest...trust. The packages I'm looking at are ripe with glowing testimonials, but I'm wondering if anyone has used any of them and if so, could comment or make a recommendation.

Several of the testimonials seem to indicate that the links were built really quickly. Isn't that a bad thing to do with a new site?

Any and all feedback would be appreciated.

    Hi Kdawg,

I know a big part of becoming an online marketer is all about "taking action" but honestly I'd get this stuff figured out before I started contacting businesses. The reason is because you want to actually be able to deliver on what you promise and if you haven't done it before, you could get into a little bit of trouble. My suggestion would be to purchase a domain or 2, target some local search terms and figure out how to get them ranked. Once you do, you can sell or lease the sites to make up for your investment of time & money getting the sites ranked. After you have that figured out, then you can contact businesses and offer SEO services because you'll actually know how to deliver that service.

Great job on taking some important steps. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the reply. I'm actually not new to internet marketing and I know on-page SEO pretty well. Really just looking for some tips on outsourcing the link building.
