Hi buddys,

I want to know what works best for you.

My special need is a longtermcontract. Cant work with 3-month contracts because its to short! It must be at least 12 months.

My ideas are:

- complete pack á la hosting, design, fanpage, little seo for less money like 50-100 per month

- videopage with just a video, phonenumber and email for reservation (restaurants) + seo

- ???

What do you offer and how much do you charge for such a long term contract?

I know you said you NEED a long term contract, but I think you're going to scare some businesses off with it. I know I'd be turned off by the requirement. Maybe try to focus on services that need maintenance and keep the client happy and do a good job and they are less likely to cancel quickly?

I've found that selling mobile websites linked to a QR Code is quite easy right now. I target primarily business who are already running print ads and position the QR Code as a way to turn their "static print ad into an interactive piece of media." I sign my clients up for year long contracts for "hosting" and updating their sites with new offers and such.

I've written quite a few posts on client acquisition strategies here in WF so I'll spare repeating myself, but a lot of them are in the "Best Of" in my signature below.

I agree with Ben, but I also like to give my two cents here, (and i've been in interactive marketing for a good while) that you should never, ever be afraid to charge at least double what you THINK you are worth, and never be afraid to have contracts with clients. I don't have less than 6 months and most are a year. If they don't see the value in your monthly service package (whatever that may be) then you don't want them as clients. I know this is hard to accept when first starting off and needing money. But if you make yourself look like a star that charges premium and has premium contracts, then you'll get premium clients. Believe, there is nothing more amazing than telling a client they are not a good fit if they don't see the value of your offering/contracts. Most times, within a month they call me back and want to come in.

      Be well,

If you wan a longer contract, make a plan that will be executable over longer time and present it to the prospective buyer as a 12-month program. $100-$200 a months is way to low, think about time you will spend on actual job even if 100% outsource it and reporting, communication, etc. If you are trying to earn 100K a year, you have to make $50/hour that's including non-billable hours. If you are spending 20% of your time prospecting and selling that means you have to raise hourly rate by 20% as well. You should start your fees at about $500/mo and have a package to make sense to business owners. Look for something here and on Fiverr that you can get and that will produce results and will cost you under $100, so now the $400+ will be your earnings.

It's not about how much money you want to make. It's about how much real value you can provide to your clients.

Faking it till you make it can work, but there are also times when you may get called out on it. What will you do then?

You could also consider giving your clients a couple of options. I have 2 contract options: the first is a 6 month contract and the second is a 12 month contract. I price the 12 month contract at about 10% less than the 6 month contract. This way the customer doesn't feel threatened by having to getting locked into 12 months but after looking at the prices they feel like they are getting a better deal on the 12 month contract since it is cheaper than the 6 month contract and they usually end up going with the 12 month contract.

I offer fan page services and I strongly believe that there is a lot of opportunity in this space. If you can find the right set of customers in a particular niche, you can really establish a long term contract as needed.

    Some more services:

    1. mobile websites (very competitive)
    2. Reputation management
    3. social media marketing

    Persistence, Persistence and Persistence.
