SEO BACKLINK HELP: GOOGLE DANCING

Hey guys, i have been doing seo for clients for about year now. I know that when you start seo on a site, the site will move down in rankings then come back up. I am aware of this. I outsource everything. I recently switched SEO providers to someone on the forum. I read the reviews and checked him out thoroughly. Last month my clients got some good results.

Here is the problem. My biggest client who i have been doing seo for for over 6 months now. The site "danced" at first but has just gone up every month with little to no movement downward at all, and it did not do this last month.

This month, 2 weeks after ordering the backlinks..... the site has moved down over 80 positions in google for all the keywords that i ordered links for. (this did not happen last month when i ordered)

I understand that sites dance, but this is after 6 months of steady backlinking, and this has not happened until now, and what worries me is how far back it has gone...... the backlink provider says it will come back up.........

please advise

First thing you need to realize about people you order backlinks from... they are using software usually. Using some software will hurt the sites because they aren't used properly.

What kind of backlinks are they? Spamming backlinks doesn't work anymore... quality counts.

Start outsourcing a link push with 100% original content. That should help quite a bit.

There are almost zero backlink packages in the WSO section that I would ever consider purchasing and pointing at a client's site. Most are building nothing but junk. Some of them do nothing but distribute autospun PLR with links in them. The articles are not even readable. If you took one of those articles to show to a client with links pointing at their site, they would probably fire you on the spot. And they probably should.

Other packages are forum profiles. Some are nothing but crappy "Hey, nice post" type of comments on blogs with 2000 other comments already.

If those links are for your own site, no big deal. You will only be hurting your own business potentially. For your clients, stay away from the WSO section. There are only a couple of good link providers in there (and naturally those are not even the most popular ones because they generally tell the truth instead of using ridiculous promises and even more ridiculous reviews). If you cannot tell the good ones from the junk, just stay away from them all.

It is important to disturb a clients site as little as possible. One idea is to build buffer sites that link to your client sites.

These could be your own, or web 2.0 sites, a mix is good. This is where you have the backlinks sent to for the most part.

Think article directory style. Good articles are written and are put on these sites you own or have access to, with hyperlinked text back to your client sites. Then backlinks are pointed at these articles.

So your clients sites only get a small amount of quality backlinks, from the ones you are building up to be an authority and have some PR, even though PR does not mean so much anymore.

The clients sites will do much less google dancing. And you will never get someone thinking they are being nice and giving you an extra large amount of backlinks which sends the site on a google dance that takes 2 months to recover. ( true story of one of my personal sites).

You received excellent advice from Mike and Jeannie. To get a good hit from the pass-thru link juice from the buffer sites, you will require a lot of links to them. The good news is that the junk links are cheap. But don't neglect getting good quality hand built links that you do yourself. Between the two methods, you should be able to compete for just about any local keyword you want.
