Offer a unique promo. QR codes are popular these days. Give out a freebie with a qr code on it. If they access it they can get a free qr cide with their logo on it. Good way to collect leads. How about partner with some other exhibitors that could be partners and do a scavenger hunt with prizes at each booth. Be creative there are a million ways to use the face to face opps at a booth.

Believe it or not, I'd have t-shirts made up that your staff wears that ask a question or starts a conversation?

For instance: "Ask me how I can get you more business"
    "Ask me what I do"
    etc.

Your purpose at tradeshows is to get business cards & contact info, and begin conversations. You're very unlikely to actually sell something during the show.

Call those people you got contact info for within a week of the tradeshow ending. Schedule appointments or sell then as you normally do.

Actually, you want the list of attendees from the show organizer in advance of the show. Contact them in advance and use the show as the opportunity to close business.

If all you're doing at a show is grabbing business cards in a fishbowl in exchange for some booth spiff, you're generating some incredibly expensive, usually fairly unqualified leads.

    Hi,
Like you i also do trade shows, but i always have some great benefits. It i snot all the time same. The benefits vary. I have some strategies that i follow and it work most the time. Lets see.

    1. Always discuss what has worked for you when you have exhibited in the past and what hasn't. Discuss ways you can get your best customers and potential customers to visit. Decide if you will extend a special invitation to a dinner or reception, purchase special gifts, or perhaps sponsor a special event. Think of innovative ways you can differentiate your trade show exhibit and presentation from your competitors

    2. Purchase moderately-priced but usable gifts such as a walkman, funny T-shirt, smokeless ashtray, or sets of golf balls to use to help with your pre-show promotion that will entice buyers visit your booth. Be creative when selecting what you buy.

    3. i Always advertise and offer show-specials. Make sure credit managers; customer service and technical people promote the show when communicating with customers.

    4. Booth personnel should learn about the products or services being displayed and brainstorm every conceivable question attendees might ask on the show floor. Carefully formulate the questions you want them to ask to qualify visitors and the sales message you want to convey.

This thing really help me a lot.

    Thank you

Number 1 tip is to COLLECT more business cards than you give away. If you take them you are in control, it's up to you to contact them and not wait for your phone to ring

The best example is an American based kid camp - their strategy was brilliant. All other competitors were trying to sell places at trade shows - their idea was to do nothing except give away free videos/dvd's about their camp and the video would get them to organise a rep to visit them in their home. Conversion ratio was through the roof and all tey had to do was to give away freebies which every body loves

So why not think about some freebies you can make to give away and collect business cards / names and emails etc to contact later

    Just helping out

      TRADE SHOW:
      1. Planning:
Right trade shows to attend with.
      2 to 3 months preparation.
      Get all the information needed.
Get the attendees list or exhibitors list.
Make an appointment with those attendees which do you think will catch up your services or products.
Make it visible to your website the dates/events of your company.
Email Blast your current or potential leads regarding the shows.
2.You must have all the list of your things to bring depends on what kind of trades hows you belong.
      -Banners
      -Flyers
      -Brochures
      -Calling card
      -your samples/to be displayed on.
      -etc....
3.whatever trade shows your gonna attend with: Don't make any reservation with their own advertise hotels, instead look for something that is nearby the event for money wise.
4.Be sure to have something to drink or candies for the attendees..
5.Be sure that you have your ID Badge and all the media kits that you need.
