      That is actually the norm. Only in internet marketing will you find people to do websites for a couple hundred bucks, throw up a preused theme that has been played out since 08, regurgitated and abused thousands of times, and claim it to be high quality work.

      I have done sites waaaaay more than 3 grand. I don't think a basic computer shop will need that much, but probably around 1.5-2K for some super quality.

      You're able to do cheap jobs when you're using templates. Most real development companies do it custom.

    Lot´s of good solutions, but my advice is to do a really good job up front defining what this website should do for you, and what it shouldn´t do. The clearer you can be in you web strategy, the less likely you are to be dooped by some web firm trying to sell add-ons.

    I'd get in touch with a few people on this forum. You'll get a great site a lot cheaper than anywhere else.

    Yes Flippa has some good sites but there's a good chance some of them are being sold by guys who use this forum. So just go straight to them. Get a few quotes though and dont pay everything upfront.

      I don't think ruthless is a good word for it. I know my clients experience a huge return after our services. A website tonight, weebly, or intuit type website doesn't cut it for SERIOUS businesses. I don't care to do business with people who don't take their own businesses seriously. Do you ever see major companies using those crappy website builder tools?
