Google Places Location Question

If a client is home-based and the recommendation is to have them rent a PO Box at a UPS Store or similar, doesn't Google match their address to the UPS Store and not give them a good Google Places listing?

You would think Google would know exactly what is going on and ban or lower the ranking of a business within their Google Places.

Any ideas on this topic?

    Hi,

To my knowledge, google places wont show exact results. you need to add the correct address with all required details

That does not answer my question. I know what address to input. I was asking the question if an address of a UPS Store in XXX City has 30 different businesses listed for their Google Places listing, would that not be a red flag that Google could or would spot?

To my knowledge, Google does list the exact location of the business so I'm sure about your statement either.

Sorry, but I do not understand your answer. Please read my response above to the other reply and maybe I was a bit clearer in my question now.

As far as I know, you will be required to list a physical address when setting up the places listing. But you can choose to hide the address on your places page, and list the areas that you provide service for.

That is what I had to do since I am based out of my home.

There may be a different way that I am unaware of though.

Thank you for your reply! I actually was asking the question about using an alternate address as your business address such as a UPS Store. This is what many of the Google Places experts tell you to do when adding a GP listing. I fully understand your answer, but I was trying to find out if Google would or would not penalize your GP listing if you used an address such as a UPS Store.
