    Hey Craig,

Happy new year and well done
I wouldn't mind looking into doing this, where can i get some info on starting this? bearing in mind i'm not techie or have any experience with websites. I like the look of residual commissions

If I am paying $2364 in advance, then why don't I just buy a whole web-design package rather than rent (probably for the same investment too)? Just curious.

Although I could reply to Abdul with some points in favour of site rentals (because most things aren't black & white).....for the most part I agree, and this is why I moved away from the idea of this model. Businesses for the most part, (and yes - with all the caveats of 'not always'), are probably going to be better off building up their own brand, and that's what I keep coming back to.

I'm thankful for the idea, as it's what turned me from considering 'online' to 'offline marketing' (although really, offline is actually online to the offline businesses you're marketing to, lol). But, as it stands, I will keep all the site rental WSO's and my own docs on hold.

For some businesses, it could actually substitute as a website that they didnt have anyway, along with hosting and ongoing SEO. Quite reasonable. For others (and I'd argue, probably most others), they'd be better off using a website to build their own brand / name etc.

That was the case here. They stated they didnt want anything to do with the site etc. To quote one of them he said

He emailed last night after I posted the OP and told me he had 2 paid for orders and got one deposit on another on an item they make that sells for between $2,000-$3,000. He said they are in profit already. I made the site 4 days ago now.

Because $2364 isn't really $2364. Its much much more when you consider the time the business owner has to spend approving proofs, asking for changes, deciding on content and paying for that.

So the cost of $2364 is really closer to 6k or even more depending on the time spent.

That's great Craig! You could also offer them a package that keeps them with you for 18 months and if they take that package you could offer to update the sites graphics / look and feel so they don't feel out dated in the future for no addition cost on their part. This is great for you because they stay with you longer and great for them because they know they are effectively getting a new site in 18 months, and therefore will more than likely stay with you for another 18 months.

Thats encouraging! I really liked this business model when I first saw it on a webinar. I liked it cause you have more control and there are a lot of businesses in just one town! You got any advice on ranking/seo work? Ive been at it for a few months now with no real luck.

Been interested in this model for off-line.

So, not to be dense, you set up an SEO optimized URL and 5 or 7 page WP website, add some engaging content (possibly re-written PLR - not spun junk), then market the site as a done-for-you, I-do-everything-you might-need solution.

    Is that about right?

    BTW GRATZ!

I'm gunna debunk a few truths here but this is the story of the site. Let me say though that what is today aint necessarily what will be tomorow such is the fickle nature of SEO at the minute.

      1. My domain name is AcmeWidgets.com
      2. My main 4 word keyphrase is BigGreenWidgetsClientsCity
      3. GAKT says it get ZERO broad searches locally and globally (that always makes me laugh)
      4. It is 1 page of content I got from them but optimised it for SEO purposes.
      5. It has his phone number 4 times on the page and a massive contact box smack bang in your face. (hint)
      6. The website is number 8
      7. Youtube video is number 2 which links back to site
      8. Classified ads have positions 1,3 and 10 which links back to site
      9. Article I wrote is 5 which links back to site

The title of the ads and the article are "BigGreenWidgetsClientsCity - His Phone Number"
Even the video is titled that so when the page is there he has 6 out of 10 positions and they all have his phone number showing in the title without anyone having to click on a link.

I havent even started posting to 2.0 properties yet.

Putting my keyword phrase in commas in Google, "BigGreenWidgetsClientsCity", returns the grand sum of 3 results, 2 from the same site. Checking my AW Sats the site has been found, in 4 days, for 26 different keyphrases.

        Great share, OP!

Google's keyword tool is funny to me as well.

About a year ago, I intentionally searched "tires+city+state" 10 times a day from home, then an hour away from work -- for a whole month, Took 20 seconds to do each day -- but wanted to see for myself how "accurate" (or not) the tool was. Bottom line, after one month, it still showed ZERO searches for that phrase. Same for the next several weeks. Nuff said there for small town searches.

As for the article -- is that just an article you may have wrote and posted on Ezine, or something you posted as a press release to hundreds of online sites, or...?

As for rental-site vs custom site... PRE-MADE RENTAL kicks butt, since it's already done and the "tenant" accepts it as-is. With custom sites, you can't pay me enough to ever go through those experiences ever again. Late night phone calls, requests on weekends, color change, move-this, fix that, add one of these, change this picture, etc... never again.

No matter how well the boundaries are set or how specific the written agreements are worded, once some clients pay for a custom site, they feel like they own you. (my experience)

Let's say I needed a roofer in London now.....I would go to G and type in "roofer london"

Now al li want is basic info,

    Is this guy qualified?
    What does he charge?
Basically can he do my job?
Can I contact him to find out asap

Why on earth would I want to sift through a 30 page site full of roofing articles, etc? Not a chance.

Or "London roofer" or "roofer in london". I think it's desirable to try and rank for multiple keywords, not just one.

And yea the site would have to be simple (3-4 pages). No need to make a 30-page website for a roofer.

        Michael,
You have the Jest of how it works...However, there are over 50 moving pieces to making money with this model. We own over 200 sites using this model and are building more every day.

One key element missed here is not using the term Rental or Rent a site, you should only be using the term... "Advertising" This is what clients/business owners understand.

After building on this model for 31 months, i can tell you, its very very lucrative...and Easy. It takes time, real work... and effort. However the Monthly re-curring payments are Awesome.

If you decide to attack this model...everything you need is in my signature and yes it was WSO of the Day...and People have made a Ton of money using this exact strategy.

Good luck... Dive in to the model - It's bomb proof and people will always pay no matter what the Internet does.

Truthfully you might not understand a roofing prospect that's why you've responded the way you did.

Any update on this method? I have actually been thinking about this hard for the last month and I really can not see why this will not work. I have built 2 websites for offline business (one for me and one for a friend) and both are easily on page one and #1 on G. I need to profit big if I can do this over and over for people. Thanks.
