open vbx is cool in theory, I started with that. Unless you are a hacker, it is hard to get it with the capabilities you want, but it is cheap! You just do not have the robust reporting you are looking for, and it gets difficult to manage after a while

I can not speak for trumpia.

Also, you really do not want your clients running their own SMS platforms, unless they are larger franchises with their own marketing team that understand the correct way to do it.

If you let Joe Schmo the pizza guy run his own campaigns, he will more than likely do it wrong, you want to consult on how to run the campaigns.

I am a white-label re-seller of Avid Mobile, meaning I have my own SMS platform that I can re-sell, so that I am able to set up other people and train that would want their own SMS business. For this, cost myself a pretty penny, but it will be well worth it, as I am branding this platform and it is mine, and I will actually start setting up people with their own SMS capabilities, under my brand, and I can still offer great pricing.

Avid Mobile offers entry level SMS, where your clients are able to login, send blast, see reports, etc. The reporting is robust, and I like it. You can do a lot of cool things that decision makers like (such as create demographic list). I actually have a highschool principal interested in SMS and we are having a conference call this week, which is pretty cool, we would have to set them up with an "enterprise" level SMS campaign.

So, my suggestion to you, is to check out Avid Mobile.

Take your time choosing a platform/provider, because you're really getting yourself into a long-term relationship with your supplier. Once you have a few clients with a list, and a list or two of your own, changing platforms could present some problems you may not want to deal with.

I agree with Ryan...you don't really want to let your clients completely run their own campaigns. They'll either do it wrong, or not do it at all because they are just too busy running their business. In addition, by consulting with your clients and running their campaigns for them, you'll be able to charge a higher fee for your services.

Because of this "life long relationship" we are all building with our suppliers, you'll get many positive opinions on several different platforms. We are all raving fans of the service we've chosen. Each one has strong points and weak points and you'll have to decide which platform most fits your business model.

I am a white label client with Lime Cellular and they are who I personally recommend. They have all the usual features you’d want in an SMS marketing platform, including scheduling of messages, text2win, polls, questionnaires, WAP coupons with built in tracking of views and redeems, a WAP ad builder, multiple lists, etc.

From the admin panel, you can log into each of your client's accounts to manage them. You also have the option of giving them login access to manage their own accounts. It is a very easy system either way you want to do it. The integration with my website is seamless so if you decide to give your customers access, they will never know it is Lime’s software and not yours.

I think one of their best selling points is that Lime isn't competing with their White Label partners. They are strictly a developer and own the short code, but they don't go sell the service on a retail level. If they get an inquiry from a potential "end user" type client, they will refer that person to one of their white label partners. They want to work with marketers like us, not compete against us.

I have found two providers that for me offer the best overall value/service.

Text180 offers a great white label program, has a nice back-end interface, and informative instructional videos for you and your clients. Their pricing is great at .02 or less per message (charged outbound only). Only other fee is $295 per year for white label.

Other option I use is Twilio. Uses a phone number insead of short code number, but does not seem to be an issue. The great thing is that you have unlimited keyword availibility. $1 per month for local phone number and .01 per text charged inbound and outbound.

LimeCellular looks good and has many additional features I haven't seen elsewhere. Unsure of their pricing, but definately worth checking out.

I have personally checked into trumpia's reseller program. They actually have a hefty price tag for their white label service but I honestly think that it would be worth the investment if you can afford it. Trumpia also provides premium shortcodes that are easier to remember. Like 77000 for example versus 54029

I cannot remember how much they want from you on a monthly basis but I know if you give them a one-time payment up front of $2,200 dollars you can be a member of their white label program and then you will not have any monthly fees.

I am somewhat familiar with Twillio, but only from what I have seen in WSO's. I have not experimented with it enough to give you legitimate advice. I personally feel that trumpia would be the best way to go, again only if you can afford it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am trying to build a business that involves SMS text messaging and want to make it BIG BIG BIG with it. Does anyone have any suggestions or info that this can be a realistic goal? I am part of yeptext but there are some people saying its not good I guess because its an affiliate program. Does that matter if I want to pull in my clients?

What does white label mean? Anyways, as you can see Im very excited but nervous and honestly inexperienced...I am a school teacher and opted in my parents and so far so good in getting them information, and it also saves paper and copies! Like I said I am sooooo excited but nervous. Can someone help me out and give some tidbits or soothing info that I'll be okay this year doing this, yeptext or not? Also want to build Apps as well ). Is anyone able to assist with the name of a sms provider in Australia or who covers the Australian market. One similar to the sms - info system provided by fortumo.com who unfortunately dont cover the Australian market.

Just a word to the wise, make sure you get your clients/customers permission first and foremost. I've gotten some UNSOLICITED SMS text messages from places of business that I only encountered one time and they assumed it was okay to message me but I looked at it as an invasion of my space.

Lime and Avid are the top two imo. I looked heavily into both but ended up choosing Avid as they dont charge for keywords which can get expensive as you gain more clients. I think they both have good points so u have to research them on your own and get what fits your consulting business.
