Why You Should Give Yourself Credit

We all wake up in the morning to the regular dose of bad news, doom and gloom and it could easily send anyone back under the comfort of the covers...but what would you gain from that?

2012 - Year of the Local Business Consultant

As someone either planning on achieving your own breakthrough this year or if you want to take things to the next level, you already know that success doesn't come easy when it comes to 'offline consulting.'

But it is possible, no matter what service or set of services you decide to offer.

So here are 4 steps that I'd like to share with you to help you rise above this year.

  1. Be totally committed to 'WHY' you're pursuing offline consulting

    For some it's to be able to leave a 9 to 5, for others it's to have more time with loved ones, for some others it's to make more money and have all the previous items, Maybe your 'why' is a feeling of freedom?

    Whatever it is, be totally committed to the reason why YOU are doing this offline thing.

    Tip: Write your reasons why down on paper and refer to them regularly

  2. Accept responsibility

    You're fully in control of your destiny in offline consulting. This is both good and bad news depending on who you are and your outlook to life.

    Tip: Figure out what worked, what didn't and what you could have done differently in 2011 then do what you have to do

  3. Be clear about the $$$$ numbers in your offline consulting business

    You can't claim to have achieved goals if you have no idea what 'achievement' is. You've no way of knowing if you're hitting you financials if you don't know what your financials are supposed to be

    Tip: Know your numbers. Be clear about what your financials goals are for the next 90 days at least. This is NOT hard and is easy to measure, so just do it. I know it may be scary but no business (even your future clients) can service without understanding "the numbers"

  4. From now on "OWN your future and your destiny

    If you knew you couldn't fail, what could you be? A local SEO expert? The person to go to for local social media marketing services? What could you be?

    Tip: Define yourself and your expertise. Don't just want to "make more money" but be specific and go for it.

You've got to figure out exactly what you want to be known for before you can build an effective plan to make it happen in 2012.
