ARRRRRRRGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! I need HELP!

Usually I'm the one answering all these other threads. And for the ones who want to give me a taste of my own medicine, I know there is a search function, and yes, unlike many I used it. AND yes, there have been numerous threads on this....

Business is booming right now... my outsource staff has doubled and everyone is swamped. I'm swamped trying to keep up.. It is just stupid busy right now, which is probably why you haven't seen me lurking here the past week or so. This month has brought in the equivalent of what january, february, and march brought in for me last year, so I am waaay over my head and trying to adapt.

What I need, is a project management set up... I used to love freedcamp but no longer care for it. I do NOT want base camp, I do NOT want a paid solution, I like to keep it open source. I have already paid for quite a few web based project management apps but none are right for me.

I need something STUPIDLY SIMPLE. The main issue with all these scripts, is that I can't justify using them. It takes more time for me to set crap up, assign deadlines, milestones, to-do's, notes on all this crap than it does for me to just email people individually. I need to be able to allow people to have access to it so they can complete the to-dos and I can track progress and communicate with the outsource team.

Does ANYBODY have a solution for this or am I out of luck? I have googled and tried out nearly everything I have come across but none seem to do the job.

Look forward to hearing the answers.

Check Out VTiger. It's a CRM Solution but it has built in features for Work Flow, Campaign Management, Cloud Storage, Etc. It will allow you to collaborate with your people.

It has a module manager so you can turn on and off any modules you don't want to make use of. It also has internal Chat Functionality and provides password protect access, user permissions, group, etc.

We use it for our backend and find it very effective and easy to use.

    It's Free and Open Source.

I am going to go ahead and say it. I have been taking notes of different membesr here on the warrior forum. The one posting this thread and these two who have answered it all usually have excelent input. If you three or two of you ever did a project together I do not think you would regret it.......

Glad to hear business is good. That's awesome.

In my experience there really isn't any such thing as a project management software that does it for you. Managing projects is a process that can't be automated. Project management software is a tool to facilitate the management process and help project manager's make better decisions based on the data collected within the particular PM tool. But hey, I'm sure you probably know that anyway...

It really sounds like you need to hire a project manager to take care of this stuff for you. They would still require a project management application to control the projects, but at least you don't have to do it.

    Regards,

I am a huge Sugar advocate (I build custom Sugar solutions for a living), but for PM I would definitely have to say that Basecamp is THE simplest, no bullish@# solution.

No useless features and required setup, etc. What was your issue with it if you don't mind me asking?
