You can not automatically get Google to allow phone verification. It usually depends on the situation... for example... Is it a new listing? Are you attempting to change data on an existing listing? Many situations will only allow verification to be performed by postcard.

hi there, I think Google now allows for SMS verification?

I seem to find that the time to get a listing in the search results is the issue. does anyone have similar issues for verfiried new accounts??

I think post card verification is the best route anyways, (for me at least).

I know phone verification is the most convenient but post card really gives one time to do other things behind the scene as well. Web site seo, 3rd party citations, etc.

I like telling my client they just have to wait for that post card because even though its the internet not everything is instant. = ) I use this to ensure they don't get into the microwave mindset when it comes to delivering services.
