Modifying Wordpress Themes, Some are so hard to figure out, any great help available out there?

Initially posted this in website design support forum here, but no joy yet...

I don't suppose anyone can point me to how to figure out what to do with various premium themes i.e. how to modify the slider images etc for a theme called cleanwide for example... searching google but no luck so far... WP themes are not so easy to use, most people make them sound brain dead easy, either that or I'm really techie dummer than I ever knew Some themes have explicit instructions etc but many I've downloaded simply don't and you can't even find what you need to modify easily, very time consuming and frustrating.

I'd be willing to buy GREAT video tutorials if someone saw fit to make them.

Cheers

    Hello

Have you tried fivrr, there are many people who will modify themes on there. If you don't see the theme your looking for you could post a gig seeking the service.

I am not a designer and have never had difficulty finding someone to do these projects for me.

    Hope this is helpful

Instead of videos teaching you how to change those items, maybe you can invest in:

    a) web development education (not only for one theme...)
    b) a proper guy/girl to take care of that for you

If you can post some more info, such as links to the themes and specific requests I should be able to help you out.

If there is no custom panel or settings for that theme, it will be located in one of the stylesheets. Do you happen to know the developer for the theme? Where did you purchase it from?

      hi Webseeds,

      Thanks, appreciate it.

Here's what I just ordered... full access to templatesold.com

I picked 2 themes to play around with...

      1. cleanwide - - DreamTemplate
      2. hummingbird - - DreamTemplate

Would be great to know how to manipulate these themes, they're pretty nice looking. BTW I figured what I need might be inthe stylesheets but that's pretty much gobbledygook to me Any advice you can share will be much appreciated.

      Cheers,

      Kunle

Just recently I had the same problem with a paid Wordpress design theme.

Wordpress latest upgrade made the navigation bar not available along the top
        [According to the developer].

I went to fiverr and contacted several Wordpress experts and gave them all a screenshot on where I wanted the nav bar.

Got it made to my liking.

So for $5, I'd get a Fiverr person to adjust to your liking.

Beats pulling your hair out trying to figure it out yourself.

        Best,
        Ewen

I was under the impression that WordPress themes came with support? I purchased a theme from iThemes and access to their support forums came with the package.

Hummingbird has a lot of online tutorials posted by bloggers

If you are facing some problem, write the exact problem in google to see if someone else has posted the same problem

Most likely, u would not be the first person facing that problem, and others would have faced the same, and would have posted on internet about the same,

so most likely, u should be able to find a solution...

    I hope this helps...

My tip would be to buy a good premium theme from a company that offers solid support (not familiar if the company you mentioned has this or not?)

I recommend Studiopress or iThemes Builder to start with, both companies have a WEALTH of tutorials and a support forum packed with information regarding any issue you can dream of with their themes.

I also suggest you pick ONE and learn it inside and out, top to bottom, and left to right. Once you master that, you can move on. A lot of themes operate just a slight bit different and unique to each company, so learning one company will be easier.

Yeah! Wordpress is truly cumbersome, I have assigned the task to some people and now they are looking after my things.

I read Jobs' biography, and was struck by the paragraph about creating beautiful circuitry. I thought of my sites in a similar way, and decided to take time to re-visit my coding, and "clean it up." My site has never ran any smoother, and all upgrades / updates have never been more seamless.

    Best Regards,

Not familiar with the theme but is there an image directory you could pull up the existing images and rename your images to those? Make sure they are same size first tho.

My one skill I am always thankful for is web/graphics. So hate WP themes!

I have no agenda but to help those in the same situation. This I feel will pay the bills.
