[DAY THREE] Making 40 Cold Call Dials Right Now!

Good morning (well, it is here).

This is my third post on my Cold Calling frenzy. I'm going to keep on sharing these because people have messaged me about how useful they have been to them.

The first two sessions I aimed for 40 dials. Today will be the same.

Recap: The reason for making the calls is to invite local business owners to attend a seminar.

Here's what I say when I call. I've kept it really simple so that anyone else can try this and follow along:

"Hi, my name is Chris Green, I am looking for Business Owners in the Birmingham area that would like to attend a seminar where they will learn how to get more clients. Who should I be sending the invite to."

It's a real simple call, but it gives me a list of people that are up for taking action.

So here we go (after I go make a coffee)...

Hat! What a great idea.....I'm going to have a baseball cap made that says:

      "Coffee is for Closers"

Parting gifts in the lobby for those who know the movie....I'm sure most of you do!

Oh yeah, I know the movie. I had a boss that made the whole company watch it in the conference room one day. Should have handed him a trojan and said "condoms are for p***ks

Chris, personally, having done a lot of cold calling in my earlier years. I think that could potentially give them a quick out:

    "nobody..as we are no interested"

How about instead of "who should we send the invite to..."

    Try this:

"Can you please give me the name of the person who deals with generating new clients, and increased profits"

The person on the phone cannot immediately, or exactly say:

"Well, nobody as we don't want new customers, or new profits"
    without sounding a bit silly.

    What's your success rate like?

It sounds a little robotic to me - I'd make it a little more personalized. For example, ask a question or two about how they get more clients.. how they market themselves. Tell them that you've researched them a bit as well. It can go a long way!

    Keep going!

    Hi Chris,

Hope things are well? I was looking for someone who could handle my cold calling calls. If you are interested maybe we could talk in more depth?

    Thanks

    Steve
